Big win. Lots more to do, but the fight to save women's sport is generally going one way.

Joe Biden scraps proposed rule on trans athletes in girls' sports

The administration had proposed the rule in April 2023, inviting the public to comment. It said on Friday that it had received more than 150,000 public replies.
Many of the comments were against the proposed rule, the administration wrote in its Federal Register filing. That, along with multiple pending lawsuits related to gender identity and sports, led the administration 'not to regulate on this issue at this time.'

Well they saw just how successful the "Harris is for they/them Trump is for you" campaign was and costly their trans rights obsession has been to their election results.

He may only have one month left, but I think Presidents quickly sign-off on a lot of laws just before leaving.

I hate to be an Eeyore but they've already moved things along one step further towards self ID. They've normalised males in girls sporting categories. So when they say 'not to regulate on this issue at this time.' believe them, they'll come back to this later.
They still haven't fixed the abortion issue either.

Yes. This is true.

Refusing to make a choice is making a choice. By refusing to legislate one way or the other they are confirming the status quo, which is that males colonise women's sports.

I imagine Trump will be happy to sign a new law protecting women's sports. It'll probably end up being the least controversial thing he does.

I don't think they will ever fix the abortion issue. If they did, what would they have left to dangle over female voters?

Kara Dansky tweeted about the issue:

I think, but am not 100% sure, this is a hollow victory because the April 2024 final rule redefines sex to include "gender identity" for ALL Title IX purposes anyway. Sports are not exempted from that redefinition. This one was just a cynical ploy to make everyone think the other one doesn't apply to sports, but I'm pretty sure it does. I'll take a closer look and correct myself if I'm wrong.”

Hopefully there will be a whole slew of lawsuits. This may be the only way to convince some people (though they may simply recast themselves as martyrs).
