Was looking for something else and saw the Committee has these new inquiries.

WEC seeks views on statutory paternity and shared parental leave

Women and Equalities Committee launches new inquiry into community cohesion

If anyone is interested.

(And ashamed to say I have no idea what Community Cohesion is meant to mean. Their intro makes it sound like religious and / or racial tensions. But in the multicultural inner city I live in, its about rich incommers vs. established community. Does that not count?)

In the Kahn Review context, I think you're correct and they're seeking evidence on resilience, resistance against extremism etc. in those settings. Nonetheless, interesting set of Terms of Reference.

Terms of reference for the call for evidence:

  • What assessments have been made of community cohesion in the UK in a local and national context?
  • What are the primary barriers and threats to community cohesion?
  • What impact does social media have on community cohesion?
  • What can be done at a local and national level to improve community cohesion?
  • What examples are there of best practice which has positively impacted community cohesion?
  • How should community cohesion be best approached in schools?
The Committee invites written submissions through the inquiry website addressing any or all of the issues raised in the following terms of reference by 31 January 2025.

In fact it would be quite hard for me to put into words what seems to be happening in the "community" (ie area) where I live.

It is far more that the community is being, has been destroyed by a local authority who just thinks they are an incovenience to their plans to gentrify.
