Head of Rape Crisis Scotland cleared over data breach complaints

Rape Crisis Scotland received complaints that Chief Executive Sandy Brindley's actions amounted to a data breach but has since been cleared by the charity's Board of Directors.

... a spokeswoman for Rape Crisis Scotland said: “Rape Crisis Scotland has undertaken a robust review – supported by external legal advice – on the complaints received and specifically of the circumstances the complaints concern.

“The review established, and the legal advice confirmed, that there was no breach of data protection laws, and no notification was required to be made to the ICO.”

RCS can crow about Brindley being cleared when an external independent investigator clears her.

So RCS decided they didn't need to report themselves to the ICO so who would be the "external independent investigator"? Unless a publishing that SB offered contact details is sufficient to prompt the ICO to investigate?

I hope I never ever have to use their services, but do you know what, I'll be going to Glasgow or beira's place if I ever do. I actually cannot fathom using a rape support service that holds women (actual women) survivors in such open contempt. The fact that she's not been sacked either...She put service users in harms way and actively encouraged the (male) CEO of ERCC to the point where service users were excluding themselves. Additionally a convicted (male!) sex offender was allowed to attend sessions with women! It's fucking ridiculous that she's still in her post and her data breach has been cleared. All of those enablers of this nonsense can get to fuck.

I wonder if she's figured out what a woman is yet? She's been trying to for over a year.
