From Sonia sodas Twitter. They Have sent an email to chairs of panels/events saying that if ppl express a gender critical view bracketed along with other things like misogyny and homophobia they should say the festival does not endorse these views

so people expressing the view they believe biology is real is as harmful and controversial as misogyny, racism and homophobia. Fucking idiots

Fucking hell!

I suppose it's a slight improvement from automatically deplatforming, but to conflate views in this way is really damaging.

Why would anyone assume that any speakers view is shared by the event organiser anyway? It used to be normal to have plurality of thought - surely that's why people go to hear speakers, not just to have their own views confirmed?

God, I wish I knew how to get hold of the amount of power the trans lobbyists have.

I might actually use it for something good.

There once was a time when book festivals were a place to discuss and celebrate a wide range of views and opinions. Diversity was where people from different groups with different interests, skills, talents, and needs were valued and respected and most importantly, there was freedom to debate these things. Sadly no longer so I will not be going.

Ridiculous and thoroughly offensive. I wonder what the attendees and sponsors think of this? It looks that the views of the blue haired marketing assistant are to be imposed on the whole festival. Would anyone like to encourage them to compare the sales of Terfy books with those of the TAs? They're insulting large sections of the book buying public.
