I am sick and tired of this whack a mole treadmill.Allison Bailey has tweeted:
The regulator is consulting on a new positive duty to act “in a way that advances equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI)”.It would replace existing core duty 8, under which barristers “must not discriminate unlawfully against any person”.

This is good to see from @legalfutures on the 'Bar Standards Board's proposed rewrite of its equality rules'.
I'm a black woman, the daughter of Jamaican immigrants, from a working-class background, a lesbian and a barrister.
You might think I would welcome these proposals to require barristers to promote 'equality, diversity and inclusion', but I don't; these proposals frighten me.
