Wishing all these brave women well.

'
Supporters of the Green Women’s Declaration for Women’s Sex-Based Rights (GWD), many of whom have been suspended or expelled from the Party, will gather outside the Green Party Conference from 6th-8th September at Manchester Central.
Launched in August 2023, GWD advocates for the rights of women as a sex, as protected in law. Current and former Party members have been appalled at the cavalier way in which women’s concerns about gender self-id have been treated within the Party. Over recent years:
Five co-chairs of Green Party Women have been expelled
Numerous founding signatories of GWD have been suspended or expelled for social media posts or promoting the group’s webinars informing members about the discrimination against women and lesbians within the Party
Green Party values of respectful debate, which apply to other contentious issues such as HS2 or nuclear power, seem not to apply to gender critical women raising our voices.'

Alongside will be 'Greens in Exile' group:

'On Friday 6 September at 12:00 noon, former and suspended members of the Green Party of England and Wales will be demonstrating outside the party conference at Manchester Central.
They are the Greens in Exile, a group of long-serving and loyal Green Party members forbidden to attend conference even though many have not yet had their cases considered. One is Eric Walker, a D-Day veteran now aged 99, who is likely to hear from the King before he has a chance to make his case to the party’s Disciplinary Committee.
They are united in their concern for internal Green Party democracy and freedom of speech. Many are ‘gender-critical’. Among other things, they have criticised the party’s governance; defended women’s sex-based rights; advocated child safeguarding and supported the Cass Review of gender identity services for children and young people. '

Wow! What heinous crime is this 99 year old man supposed to have committed?

ArabellaScott · 05/09/2024 22:05

https://greensinexile.org.uk/exile-eric-walker

'In late 2023, Eric posted questions to the group about the identity of the GPRC reps who take the decisions to place party members on no-fault suspension (NFS). Their identity is meant to be kept secret (to protect them from the risk that they might be harassed or victimised by the people that they put on NFS).

Even though Eric’s questions were posed innocently and he revealed nobody’s secret role, he was placed on no-fault suspension in January 2024. The repercussions of this extended to the moderators of the Green Seniors email group. Even though they had asked Eric not to post his enquiries there, they too were placed on NFS.

Eric is a D-Day veteran now aged 99, who has been running an educational charity ‘Concord Video and Film Council’ aka ‘Concord Media’ that has been publishing documentary films since the 1970s, including ones on climate change: ‘And on the Eighth Day’ (1970) and ‘Limits to Growth’ (1972).

Notably, in 1978, he published the film, ‘Trapped inside the Wrong Body – people of both sexes explain how it feels to have a body of the wrong gender’.

In 1989, he published the film, ‘Sex Change – Shock! Horror! Probe! Gender identity and transexuality issues explored’. It was directed by Kristiene Clarke, a well-known transwoman in the documentary film world, with whom Eric has on ongoing working relationship for the supply of material and royalties.'

Thank you for drawing attention to these meetings. I cannot go but am glad to know these groups exist.

All power to these people. I'm so disappointed by the Green Party blind allegiance to the aims and intentions of TRAs. They used to be so measured and responsible they gave me hope for a better future but not anymore. Lib Dems similar although there are more balanced views in the party than in Greens.

Thx for sharing OP.

I wish the protestors the best of luck for their protest tomorrow Flowers

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13821721/Green-Party-accused-exiling-gender-critical-members-trans-rights.html

Emma Batemen interviewed:

'....if we cannot say a basic thing, that men are not women, then no one will respect us on the sides of climate change.
'Last year I was on my own here. Now there is a whole bunch of us. Democracy and debate is dead in the party.'
The group say they have been contacted by numerous councillors and party officials who support their gender-critical stance but are fearful of speaking out.
They claimed more than 30 members have been suspended, expelled or have resigned over their views in 2024 alone.'

Green Party accused of 'exiling' gender-critical members

Long-serving party members have said governance bodies have been captured by ' gender ideologues' who have allowed the complaints system to be abused.

Ffs.

'She told the meeting: "I’ve yet to meet anyone that actually says somebody should not have the right to be addressed as they please, and to dress as they please.

"I really think there is something mischievous in the air - to make those out to be an issue."

She went on to say: "The confusion arises when people start conflating sex with gender."

"Biology is a real thing - it is not a belief" she said, calling for the government to adopt the Cass Review recommendations, external on gender care in full.'

Suspended. For that.

Shame on those destroying the Green Party.

Well, the Green Party is still suspending people.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c624em4d1r1o

He added that Ms Devulapalli's suspension was an example of the Green Party's disciplinary system "working a little more efficiently".

It is an example of the Green Party’s authoritarian ideology working even more efficiently.

Unbelievable. Well not, but YKWIM.

A senior Green councillor and former parliamentary candidate has been suspended by her party following a complaint about her comments in a debate on trans issues.

Pallavi Devulapalli has been told by party officials that the remarks – made in an event at Downham Methodist Church in June – mean she may “prove a risk”.

Dr Devulapalli, who was the party’s national spokeswoman for health, social care and public health until her suspension, has stood by the comments, in which she expressed her support for sex-based rights and questioned whether the debate over trans issues was being promoted “mischievously”.

She went on to say “sex-based rights are important” and stressed the need to maintain distinction between gender and sex.

She also spoke out in support of the Cass review – an independent report which recommended halting the prescription of sex hormones to young patients with gender dysphoria.

“Biology is a real thing, it’s not a belief to say the female sex is different from the male sex,” she said.

“There is nothing wrong with accepting some people fall between the two but they are very few and far between.

(As far as I can make out she actually supports trans rights, but also believes in women's sex based rights.)

The slightest dissent or questioning of the mantra 'twaw/tmam/nbiav' will be punished. The Green Party is no longer a political party; it's behaving more like a cult.

When we desperately need political parties to balance out and challenge the Reform party the Greens seem intent on self destruction. This seems so sinister.

Now there are more Green MPs there will be more scrutiny of their inner workings.

They claim to be the most Democratic Party in terms of how members can vote for various roles; in practice this means creating complex codes of conducts that serves to suspend any of those they don't like before anyone can vote for them.

🙃

WarriorN · 07/09/2024 08:30

The greens in exile website is a damming record of their lack of safeguarding and authoritarian rule.

IwantToRetire · 07/09/2024 19:40

I hadn't heard of Greens In Exile.

So found the link https://greensinexile.org.uk/

Worth knowing, because locally there is a council by-election and an indendent who sounds good on paper says the Greens are not contesting to get her more support.

Now feel I should know more what her attitudes are to Green policy as would hate to end up effectively voting for Green Party policies.

Greens in Exile - Greens in Exile

Who are the Greens in Exile? We are a group of long-serving and loyal Green Party members who have been forced out of the Green party.

cariadlet · 08/09/2024 01:57

Greens in Exile are a very new group. They put together an excellent website in a matter of weeks. Great t-shirts and leaflets. They're also on Twitter - look out for their account but also the #GreensInExile hashtag.

They have been outside the Green Party Conference all day on Friday and Saturday and will be back for the last day on Sunday.

The Green Women's Declaration banner has also been on display - many of the Exiles are founding signatories.

The Exiles have had productive conversations with ordinary members who had no idea what has been happening.

They had also liaised in advance with WRN. WRN is apolitical and thinks that all political parties should support women's rights.
Manchester WRN have been leafletting near the Exiles and also had a mainly positive response.

22 min interview where he apparently said it was imperative to protect free speech on sensitive or controversial topics in politics.
