A Fascinating interview on Andrew Gold's programme Heretics with a lot of coverage relating to topics discussed here.

Huw Edwards is discussed alongside how fame drives power and manipulation. Discussions around Savile and sacred castes. Trans identities, drivers, 'good' psychiatry questions beliefs about yourself.

Comments on the nhs and also drs who give what you ask for - drs who say no to some drugs usually have your best interests at heart (this was within the context of trans and things like insomnia). Analogies with anorexia.

I felt some was a bit flippant, and it was strange to hear his chirpy jokey Good Morning voice discussing such difficult things. But then he did enter the world of media after explaining the fetish auto asphyxiation (following the death of an MP from it) to the nation on Good morning. Confused

I enjoyed listening to that - it was a bit flippant at times but I don’t think it detracts from the serious subjects discussed.

Andrew Gold is very much becoming one of the podcasters I look forward to hearing from; he seems determined to make a go of interviewing as many heterodox people as he can and, even if I don’t always agree with their outlook on issues, I usually find the conversations he has with his guests interesting.
