I refuse to use websites that only allow spyware-free browsing if you pay them not to be spied upon. If you post an archive link I'd take a look.

Great article which pulls absolutely no punches.

Changingplace · 16/08/2024 07:48

I normally have no time for anything written in the Sun but that’s a great article.

Catsmere · 16/08/2024 07:49

How right she is. This is MVAW as a spectator sport.

Cornholioooo · 16/08/2024 08:14

I don't like the Sun either, but thought it was a really good straightforward article.

I don't like the Sun or the Mail or the Telegraph much either - the Times, meh - but given that the left-leaning press like the Graun and the Independent are so unremittingly shit on this subject, what choice is there? I'll give them the clicks and I'll link to their stories.

flapjackfairy · 16/08/2024 08:22

Great pun as well !

I don't like Mumsnet much, but this thread is pretty good.

It's really easy to check for archive versions of articles or to archive them yourself. 🙂

  1. Copy the link (if the option is there, grab the version without tracking).
  2. Open an archive site such as archive.ph or ghostarchive.org
  3. Paste the link in the search box to look for an existing archive.
  4. If there isn't an existing archive, then ask the site to archive it.

Yes that works, thanks nutmeg.

The pictures paint a thousand words: Khelif, in the the ring - look at the faces of the two men (judges?) - , and the one of Khelif punching the Chinese fighter - see the obvious difference in the arm length.

Thought I would never say this but what a great article in The Sun. Then again, it is from the same stable as The Times.

PurpleSparkledPixie · 16/08/2024 09:14

Archive didn't work for me, stopped loading halfway through.

Helleofabore · 16/08/2024 09:45

Archive ph has been very slow loading over the last day. It is on archive.is though

Not that I don’t have empathy for Khelif. We can only imagine the trauma of being raised as a girl and then finding out you are actually male.
But whatever sympathy I may have for Khelif is dwarfed by that I have for the women he has punched in the face.* *

This pretty much sums up my thoughts.

InvisibleBuffy · 16/08/2024 10:06

FWIW, I wish the Guardian would bloody report properly on this stuff. All the newspapers should.
The fact that they're not isn't a reflection on the quality of the story, it's a reflection on the declining quality of the Guardian.
I'm still annoyed that I used to subscribe and actually give them money.

Me too. This is it exactly.

"Declining quality of the Guardian"? When was that then? They have been a complete fucking binfire on TRA for years.
