This case is around the same circumstances as Denise Fahmy's case.

Denise took the Arts Council England to tribunal and won. The events arose from her questioning why ACE/LBF had rescinded a grant made to LGBAlliance, which was followed by a petition against her and any other GC staff being circulated among ACE employees.

Afreena Islam-Wright signed the petition against Denise, and added a comment:

'If I came to work one day, and attended a drop-in session where staff members were openly making racist statements, and asking Arts Council what protection will be offered to them as race-critical staff members - I would feel terrified. I can’t imagine what my trans and nb colleagues are feeling right now...'

ACE began a disciplinary process against Afreena as a result, and she left. She is now claiming against them.

Her lawyer seems to have really annoyed the judge during questioning of 1 of the ACE witnesses on Thursday and the case seems to be a baseless claim to try and get both a payout and have a crt say harassing and victimising gc staff is a protected act, as long as it's to defend trans people.
I'm not a lawyer but having hurd the case put forward by Ms Islam-Wright I really don't see how she can win
