Anyone else excited to join SEEN in Legal Sector?

I heard news it was being formed on here somewhere and have contacted SEEN through their web form to ask if I can be added to any potential members’ list for when it is launched. Until recently I was working for a law firm - until I advised a fellow lawyer internally on a matter involving data protection and referenced Forstater and was told my non-Stonewall compliant advice was problematic despite being legally correct. I felt my card was marked after that point plus my choice to ignore repeated requests to add pronouns on LinkedIn and in my email signature. We parted ways soon after (they have risen in this year’s Stonewall ranks) and now I am constantly irritated by the Equality Monitoring Questionnaires all law firms seem to have adopted, conflating sex, gender and gender identity. It makes me not want to work somewhere that actively ignores the law even though I don’t practice employment, however my area of data protection and privacy overlaps a lot and if they are Stonewall members I now know I have to avoid. I can’t wait for SEEN in the legal sector to be established and would happily volunteer to help with any admin to get started while I’m jobless - just so it comes sooner. Anyone else feel the same way who works in the Legal Sector?

I’ve just finished my law degree and planning on doing the Bar course. I hope law students and those in training will be able to join!

Hope so too @AstonScrapedMyDataAndTheOnlyThingIGotWasThisName trainees, apprentice solicitors and pupils are more vulnerable than old timers like me but still here I am trying to work out which law firms are still doing actual law rather than telling clients what they think Stonewall wants the law to be. At least the ranking list provides some guidance on which firms / chambers to avoid but we shouldn’t have to carve our careers around nonsense. Sadly I see the SRA is on stonewall list - haven’t checked Bar Council - so long way to go and makes legal sector SEEN even more necessary when the regulators have signed up.
