Very excited to see what lunacy the Greens had in store for us. Their commitment on gender issues is disappointingly vague and half-hearted, however:

"Campaign for the right of self-identification for trans and non-binary people"

Not even implement it - just campaign for it.

Defending Human Rights, Democracy and Justice - Green Party

Real hope.Real change. Green MPs will always defend our democratic and human rights, uphold the rule of law and tackle political corruption. We will also push for the UK to become a modern, functional and more representative democracy. We will defend t...

This is from the full long manifesto

The Green Party supports self-ID, so that trans and non-binary people could be legally recognised in their chosen gender through self-declaration. We also support ending the spousal veto so that married trans people can acquire their gender recognition certification without having to obtain permission from their spouse, and to change the law so an X gender marker can be added to passports for non-binary and intersex people who wish to use it.

Section on ending domestic abuse against women and girls. Even though it says 'domestic abuse' the section appears to be about VAWG more generally, and includes

• Make misogyny a hate crime across the UK and increase the police’s capacity to deal with domestic violence.
• Develop and implement a new UK-wide strategy to tackle gender-based violence, including domestic violence, rape and sexual abuse, Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), and trafficking.
and
• Decriminalise sex work.

Catching a bit of one of the co-leaders on the radio, I think their approach is that they know they won't be in power so they see their role very much as trying to gain as many seats as they can to then exert pressure in parliament.

Thank you, I couldn't find the Scottish Greens' one - maybe it's not out yet.

Develop and implement a new UK-wide strategy to tackle gender-based violence

I went to see what the detail of that point involved.

That is the detail.

Hope can you make misogyny a crime when you have self ID? Makes no bloody sense.

Absolute state of the Greens

"@TheGreenParty manifesto doesn’t mention any policies to assure voters they understand #SafeguardingAllChildren

Look the Greens believe that womanhood includes a feeling in a man’s head, except they know that biological women hate this so they are obfuscating. Simple. Vote green as a woman and you are voting for your sex to become a free for all, except you won’t be able to complain because that will be transphobia.

LittleEsme · 15/06/2024 07:22

Is there any party except the Tories that don't say this though?

Frightening.

ErrolTheDragon · 15/06/2024 09:53

Not even implement it - just campaign for it.

Well, at least that's honest, they're never going to be in a position to implement anything.
