So this bloke just saw a woman sitting on a bench and it made him so angry that he nearly killed her? But I thought they 'just wanted to pee'.

Igmum · 06/06/2024 19:13

Thank heavens he's in a men's prison. That's a horrific assault.

Yep. But the most vulnerable members of society apparently

Two years? For someone with previous convictions, attacking another person so violently, for no reason.

Chersfrozenface · 06/06/2024 19:27

Referred to as "she" and "woman' throughout and no mention of being transgender or male in the story in one local/regional paper, the Powys County Times.

And you'd have to know Berwyn is a male prison to work it out.

At least another local/regional paper, the Shropshire Star, states that Berwyn is a "men's jail'.

Trying to use having been in the care system as any mitigation for violent offences and the child indecent images 😡

SinnerBoy · 07/06/2024 05:18

Child sex abuse material and numerous convictions for extreme violence and all he got was two years? It's a monstrous injustice, in my opinion. He goes around attacking women regularly and very little has been done to deter him, which is undoubtedly why he's felt entitled to carry out his most recent assault.

Is the judiciary ever going to get a grip on reality? Not just because he's claimed woman status, I mean violent crimes in general.

SamW98 · 07/06/2024 08:50

Totally agree. A repeat violent sexual offender who shows no remorse or signs of rehabilitation and he gets a sentence less than someone would get for theft.

The victim will still be physically and mentally traumatised when he’s back on the streets looking for another woman to target.

Yes, there's a 3 strikes rule for burglars, with a minimum three year starting tariff. What about violent nutters and sex offenders? Don't they have anything similar?
