I saw that yesterday, but with a quote from the judge emphasising how long he would have had to have maintained pressure after she lost consciousness in order to kill her.

I also noted that he called his landlord rather than an ambulance.

And I'm sorry you had to grow up in a society that encourages women to think that being choked is a fun thing.

I wish people would wake up and put a stop to this nonsense. Stop deriding young women if they don't want 'rough sex', 'anal' (illegal not so long ago) and so on. I wish the law supported women. I'm old and you'll ignore me, but I'm sorry you can't all be safe.

I have DDs in their 20s. It's horrendous that rough sex has been normalised for their age group.

It strikes me that separate to the porn normalisation of horrible/dangerous sex practices drugs during sex is also a problem. We know drugs shouldn't mix with driving & other situations when we have the lives of others in our hands - I think sex should be included too. (I mean obviously "don't do drugs kids" but despite illegality we campaign to remind people not to do drugs & drive)

I think red flags need to be taught. Love affairs that are 'sweeping off your feet', move too fast, love bombing, passionate promises, too good to be true, etc. Jealousy and controlling behaviour.

Unfortunately it's very hard to get someone out when they're hooked.
