I so wish they had the comments switched on for this article. Talk about pointing out the absurdity of the situation.

Brief summary : this chap is in prison (male prison, thank god) indefinitely, decides he's trans, is unmanageable with fellow inmates and staff and has just lost his appeal trying to claim was illegal to keep him in solitary confinement.

But the way the article is written - he is only referred to by name in the first part of the article when he identified as a man, then it switches to she/her after he transitions. Whilst showing photos and describing behaviour that are clearly male. I can imagine the majority of the readers going WTF!!

Two points that jumped out at me:

• they have a whole wing for transgender prisoners? (he wasn't on it though, because they didn't get along...)
• where did he get his breasts from as he transitioned whilst in prison? Did my taxes pay for that? Hopefully they are imaginary.

Usual crap. Violent male paedophile decides he wants to ‘be a woman’ whilst in prison. Authorities say ok, that’s totally fine. Despite the fact you are an aggressive paedophile, we will all pretend you’re a woman too. That’s ok. Whatever you like.

He sounds like an absolute nightmare. I really wish the NZH had not indulged him in his fantasies by continuously referring to him as "her".

this is the first time I've ever read about the risks presented to other male prisoners from a transwoman:

'Ms Stevens frequently exhibited overly sexualised behaviour towards other prisoners, including asking them to touch her breasts and other parts of her body in a sexual manner,” Court of Appeal justices Murray Gilbert, Christian Whata and Peter Churchman noted in their 45-page judgment released last week.

“She also pursued romantic relationships with younger or vulnerable prisoners. [Prison] staff considered, based on their observations, that these relationships were not reciprocated, and they were concerned about the negative impact on the mental wellbeing of the young prisoners Ms Stevens fixated on. The issue was raised with Ms Stevens on numerous occasions, but her behaviour continued to escalate.”'

Well done, big hand clap to the Law makers who are responsible for this nonsense. Is it getting through yet that insisting men who say they are women is lies and wide open to exploitation at every turn? What a complete waste of time and money across the globe in pandering to this ideology. I still find it hard to believe why so many supposedly intelligent people ever thought it a workable idea?

I agree. When I was beginning my peaking journey, there was a headline to the effect of 'Woman convicted of raping man' and I thought 'WTF, you need a penis to rape'. Which obviously this 'woman' had. But it was another thing to make me stop and think and look into this further.

This article was the top headline for a short time, so hopefully many people read it and perhaps some of them had a WTF moment.

This is true in the UK, but not necessarily everywhere, so it can depend on where the news is coming from.
