Very interesting series about being a boy today. Very informative conversations about sex and porn as well as the pressures on boys today.

It looks very comprehensive. I read her article about it but haven't heard any of the programmes yet. Off to have a listen. Thanks

I've been listening to it all week, there are some parts I don't agree with and some I do. I have 2 boys. One is 20 now.

I do think it's erring on 'ban all social media' for under 16's which I absolutely do not agree with.

One boy moaning about his life spent on tik tok doomscrolling and then says
Oh I now make money drop shipping, you tube and monetising tik tok.

Well you wouldn't have learnt that other than watching tik tok!

I liked it.

The boy making money via tiktok/dropshipping. I guess its good for him but I'm not actually thrilled at the way becoming a "Tiktok entrepreneur" is pushed so heavily on preteens/teenage boys. Obviously it works out for some but the whole "hustle" culture which seems to consist of making videos on how to make money from tiktok for other people to see and make their own videos is a bit pyramid schemey. Plus its not healthy trying to become youtube famous for the sake of being youtube famous. I think its different when people start with a particular interest/passion and use tiktok/youtube to talk about it and become popular organically.

Did you listen to the linked programme broadcast the week before?

Yes. That one is part of that series too.

The new trend of boys asking their girlfriends to record their consent is very sad - for both parties. What a passion killer that sounds.

Then the lad depressed about his ' doomscrolling' . But I don't set a good example, I rarely use the laptop now except for zoom calls or maybe listening to radio. The phone has taken over otherwise.
