When I grow up I want to write like Turner!

I keep seeing quotes from her article but have no way to bask in the whole thing. If anyone can help, 🙏 🙏 🙏

Here you go

You can copy that into any other relevant thread if you want

A good article an I think the main takeaway is right. WE have spent what seems like forever being shouted down by nutters so much so that even one serious adult back in the room feels like a victory. However it is just the real start of the fightback because these headbangers are bloody everywhere and will take years to evict from their cushy sinecures.

Teenage life is scary — even without gender clinics is an article in the Sunday Times by Hadly Freeman and I think is worth reading.

But I dont have a share token (sorry).

Having links via share tokens are great but dont forget the share expires so you can always archive via archive.ph (just a thought).

The Cass review shows girls were led down the transgender path when all they needed was reassurance

Here you go (I've not read it yet, busy day yesterday so thanks for heads up )

I can never access archive links, maybe some browser setting but I think I've tried chrome as well as safari.

I think there's another thread on this but yesterday also had this

@ErrolTheDragon Thank you, thank you, thank you! Also thanks to others for further links.

(I used to subscribe to the Times, but when I needed to save money and unsubscribe it was such a stupid pain I swore never again.)

DH manages our newspaper subscriptions - he's good at being adamant he's going to cancel every time they come up for renewal and ending up being offered a very low rate to continue.

quixote9 · 16/04/2024 14:40

(Yes, I've used archive.is and similar, like .ph. But recently The Times must have changed its web site so now only the first paragraph or so is displayed. Annoying as hell, given that they're using taxpayer-funded internet invention and development and taxpayer-funded hardware networks and taxpayer-funded web invention and development. Anyway. Don't get me started on abuse of the open source web.)

Some of what the times and Sunday times do is the sort of investigative journalism which is necessary to a functioning democracy - enough to be worth paying for imo.

And then again, there's Giles Coren but he's not always wrong...

I got a cheap Telegraph subscription during their lockdown offer period. Got an email to remind me that it would be £100+ on renewal, so went online to cancel it, and was led through a series of screens that said, 'You wouldn't be able to read THIS! Sure you want to cancel?' [yes, I do], then 'But what about THIS? Surely you'd miss this?' [No, please cancel] 'But, come on, there's THIS!!!' [no, really, I want to cancel] 'OK, so what if we offered you a subscription renewal for £30ish instead?' [mmm, OK, then].
