Silencing and censorship? Why did you not just amend my thread title MN?

I had a thread which was not meant to be inflammatory nor antagonistic. Perhaps I got some terminology wrong. I don't know as I haven't been informed - the thread has just Vanished! It was also a thread with pages and pages of links and information that I'd requested and said I would look at.

I had thought - but not said (yet) that it's such a relief to be able to discuss matters about gender openly and without people jumping down your throat accusing you of stuff. Instead, I've clearly got the message that any discussion will be silenced. What nonsense! I have see you change thread titles before so why didn't you just do that @MNHQ. I am pretty annoyed and disappointed. Closing a thread isn't going to change someone's views nor help educate!

I expect it was reported by the person who turned up to say you thread title was “disgusting” - it wasn’t but as you can see ppl are very report happy here

Might be best to put this as a question to @mnhq under Site Stuff.

As far as I recall, the @MNHQ name is not a real monitored username. You'd be better using a specific mod's name, maybe there's one in the email they should have sent you? Or ask in Site Stuff maybe. Sometimes reporting your own thread to ask for an edit before anyone else reports it can help.

No email. Just the a notice on the deleted thread saying the content was fine but the title was inflammatory.

I've got better things to rally against than fight forum jobsworths.

I will just leave it. It doesn't make any difference and really does prove a point about the lunacy of the whole situation.

From their deletion message, I too wondered why they didn't change the title or request that you do.

I didn't like the title but didn't report it.

Why would I, it's a forum for debate.

Also, when I read back I saw you apologised for the title.

Transactivists do seem to wield a lot of power in censoring women's thought and speech. Which is why we're in this current mess.

So, why not repost the content and change the title???

As I said in my intial post and others then also said it - go to site stuff forums - MNHQ at really good in helping out

TBH, I do not expect a MNHQ Mod decide what the title of your thread should be unless it was a typo which it was not by your own admission

Yes.... you need to do one of these things else MNHQ won't know about your complaint. The report button is probably the easiest and most direct option for communication - it's not just for bad stuff.

I was thinking similar OP - I saw the deletion message and wondered why MN didn't just amend the title directly, or email you first - why the need to delete it to do that?
They routinely amend titles in other threads without deleting the whole thing.

Does this mean it will be reinstated MN?
