'Humpty Dumpty Sat on a Stonewall – Reflections on Inclusive Christianity'

Christian writer attacks gender ideology in the Church, and asks who defines ‘inclusive’.

Hard-hitting article, being shared by LGB Christians (part of LGB Alliance).

‘I feel I’m being asked to bless en bloc a grouping that’s disparate and fluid, unboundaried and constantly expanding, unaccountable and internally contradictory, and whose wilder fringes shade off into lawless badlands.’

Humpty Dumpty Sat on a Stonewall – Reflections on Inclusive Christianity

Rev. Mike Starkey, Anglican clergyman, journalist, broadcaster, and cultural commentator, breaks the mold with this exceptionally well-observed piece on the 'alphabet soup' and its relationship to Christianity. "The LGBTQ+ acronym has expanded over tim...

This person seems to have ridiculously over egged a response and has split hairs so much hes thrown the entire baby ("are you supportive of gay people in your church?") out with the bathwater ("do you agree with LGBTQIA++++ definitions?")

If I was a lesbian, I think that reply would make me feel unwelcome if he was my minister.

He could unequivocally say he welcomes gay people in his congregation. Unless of course he can't say that for some reason.

What you suggest (an article on how he welcomes gay people in his church) would be a very different article.

This one is about the incoherence of the Stonewall agenda, and how lots of 'inclusive' Christians feel they have to buy into it.

Yes it's the all-or-nothing approach which is everywhere in UK and US politics. So many people in churches either want to be kind and end up swallowing everything Stonewall says, or feel they must go the other way and get painted as right-wing extremists.

Greenbelt is completely captured by this and would be a pretty scary place to ask questions about biological reality and women's rights (I've tried! Didn't want to know). I hope LGB Christians can get some dialogue going there.

Yes, exactly. I suspect the LGB Christians are promoting this article to start that conversation. Thanks for trying at Greenbelt!

Too many Christians default to a 'need to be kind, so I have to support the whole package' view, without examining what's inside the package. I'm shocked at how little some 'inclusive' Christians know about what's now included in the T, Q and +.
