Pet at Home. Forcing agendas on employees.

Am absolutely appalled.

How can they justify this?

I've just emailed them to tell them they won't ever recieve another penny from me.

I have 6 pets and spent alot of money there, weekly.

I will never set foot in there again.

It's good news for my local pet shop. I've switched to buying all my dog's food and supplies there and won't be going back to Pets At Home.

I'm struggling to find something to match their 24 cans of cat food for £15.99 but I guess I'll just have to pay more.

If you can afford to boycott a company then feel free to do so. But don't bite your nose off to spite your face. You need to feed your cats.

It will only be about £4 more a month elsewhere.

I have heard some absolutely repulsive things about how they treat their breeding animals from a friend in animal rescue who went undercover there so this is just another reason not to buy anything from them.

Yes. Their animal husbandry is extremely poor as well :(

Haven’t used pets at home for years due to their appalling animal care and buying from bad breeders with no care about their welfare etc.

Those who are doing the same check out zooplus online. Much cheaper than pets at home and they deliver as well.

I was coming to say zooplus too.

I've just been stood outside PAH talking to an elderly lady with a Yorkshire terrier who told me her dog had a brother who died because the PAH vet in that branch gave her boy both injections (his and the one meant for the female) at their booster injection appointment 😐

I stopped using Pets at Home a little while back when it was clear they were fully signed up to Stonewall.

Their response.

They basically didn't respond.

Maybe they're hoping to secure the potentially lucrative trans pets market, should one emerge.

I don’t know what the dog died of, but it won’t have been from getting twice the dose of vaccine. Vets do make mistakes, but that one wouldn’t be fatal.

To be honest who ever thought their care of animals would ever be good?

Lols. It does bring a smile to my face how entrenched in loathing for trans people most on here are - trans - who are such a small amount of people.

I'm sure Pets at Home are quivering at the loss of business.....

Compelled speech isn't treating all employees equally.

If some employees are Muslim is it equality to force all employees to believe in Allah? And if you say 'I'm sorry, I'm happy that you are Muslim but I am not and I do not believe in the notion of a god' then you are threatened with disciplinary action?

Some people do not believe in gender ideology and should not be forced to refer to themselves as 'cis' or use 'preferred pronouns' if they do not want to.

It's forced upon them with the threat of losing their jobs.

How is that equality? One train of thought being pushed and forced above all others and not allowing employees to have autonomy over their own language?

How is the relevant to working in a pet shop? How is it an employers place to 'educate' grown people on LGBTQ issues, or any issues for that matter?

This is political and has no place in the workplace.
