I’m a member of our local WI and on the meeting closest to IWD we’ve got a bloody drag queen coming along as a guest speaker and a fashion show.

I’m quite pissed off about it!

Couldn’t we have had an inspirational woman speaking that night? Were they all booked up already?

Also - a sodding fashion show! Way to reinforce harmful stereotypes and traditional gender roles. Fuck promoting equality, let’s just conform to societal expectations shall we?

Thanks for the sanity check. I've written a bit of a knee-jerk email. I should have waited, slept on it, and put together something more measured, but at least I didn't swear, so there's that!
