North London Buggy Pushing Hate Criminals

I salute you!

Sit down, ladies, a 'hate crime' has been done with a sticker. On a knitting shop. It said... and you might need to deep breathe a bit... 'no one is born in the wrong body'. How fucking outrageous. Insta is full of the righteous, sad that a poor child will grow up with a mother who thinks they're perfect just as they are, that they should accept themselves and not get their bits chopped off if they want to play with Barbies and they're a little gentleman.

Whoever you are, out and about, doing dinner, picking the kids up and finding time for the hate crimes - bloody brilliant. Write a book on time management for the feminist north London elites. Top work.

She's really upset because they stuck a sticker on her sign? How do these people manage adult life if they are knocked sideways by a fucking sticker?

Pudmyboy · 16/02/2024 21:26

To me, the two statements are not in conflict: craft is for everyone: yes; no-one is born in the wrong body: also yes: what's the problem? (yes I have my tongue firmly in my cheek!)

Corksoles · 16/02/2024 21:28

She does actually call it a hate crime in one of the many videos. A sticker that calls all bodies fine - how does that work? How do people lose the ability to think straight?

Or not feel a bit of shame? The kids that get the shit beaten out of them for being the wrong colour - that's a fucking hate crime. A sticker saying something entirely positive - not a fucking hate crime.

I totally agree. Nothing about those stickers excludes trans people from crochet or macrame.

"We reported you to the police last time and we will do it again"

Do we think this has been logged as a hate crime?

"We reported you to the police last time and we will do it again"

Do we think this has been logged as a hate crime?

"I'm emailing the police." And she does a '4 hate crimes and 1 burglary' bit too. So yeah - sounds like it.

No subtitles on the reel. Nary a fuck given for the D/deaf nor any other people who need them to mitigate against a disability, what a surprise 🙄

Clearly craft is not, in fact, for everyone.

Of course, working to make a space suitable for as many disabled people as possible (different disabilities have conflicting needs, so nowhere can accommodate everyone successfully) takes actual effort, not empty virtue signalling & histrionics over stickers, so… 🤷‍♀️

dapsnotplimsolls · 16/02/2024 22:21

Bit of a threat at the end there?

Corksoles · 16/02/2024 23:25

Bit of a threat at the end there?

Yeah. Just a bit.

She's posted a clip of the mum who she thinks wielded a sticker on another one of the many other videos...

Oh and the shop has moths.

Herself personally and her shop have been targeted by Hate Criminals. I think bearing in mind what has happened she is being very strong/brave. Even managing at times to crack a smile/make a joke whilst sitting in a cupboard with very bad associations for her (because of the time her friends phone was stolen and she had to check the CCTV). You are all very mean terfs. 😔

NitroNine · 17/02/2024 03:34

@anothernamitynamenamechange
I thought the cupboard might be traumatic because of Harry Potter. Surely filming yourself in a cupboard is Big TERF Energy because of the whole The Boy Who Lived/Chosen One thing? 🤔🧐

@Corksoles WTH? She’s seriously just randomly publicly accused some poor woman of being a massive transphobe?! (I need subtitles, so have no idea what’s gone on but what’s been said here). If she’d truly a notion it was them she needs to be including it in her umpteenth report to the police. Not that the poor woman should be being bothered by them; but that’s infinitely preferable to her being hunted down by internet vigilantes; which absolutely does happen; & there are a superabundance of TRAs who live online & rejoice in exactly that sort of thing. Has the great eejit not even the sense with which they were born?

(Is she saying the moths are also transphobic? Part of the stickerers’ transphobic plot? Actually beautiful butterflies & their identities must be respected?)

This madness is why ye don’t go north of the river lads. But gwan the stickering mummies.

MrsJamin · 17/02/2024 04:27

She should be charged for wasting police time. It's a bloody sticker with a fact on. Ultimate snowflake!

Cancelledcurio · 17/02/2024 04:34

I think she is vewy bwewe. My young daughter has a steady stream of shoplifters in the food shop, she works in. From desperate substance abusers, to wee skint grannies to mums trying steal nappies. She says it scary and sad - she's only 17, but this North of the Thames Warrior of Justice puts us all to shame! By God ! Stickered !

WibblyWobblyWeeble · 17/02/2024 04:53

Telling people their bodies are fine is a hate crime?
Well I never.
No idea how she gets through daily life when that makes her almost cry.
Get a grip pet.

Exactly. I'm delighted to see the North London mums giving it some political activism while being in time for nursery pick up, but was a bit worried about the video. She's accusing some randomer of doing something transphobic, and given the threats and actual attacks some women have experienced, I'm not sure she should risk calling down a bunch of addled men on whoever. For 'nobody is born in the wrong body'.

OP posts:
FKAT · 17/02/2024 15:05

I don't get what the hate is. The sticker says 'nobody is born in the wrong body' - how is that a hate crime? How is that anti trans?

Implying that people ARE born in the wrong body is transphobic and a hate crime and I'm on the phone to the police RIGHT NOW.

SamW98 · 17/02/2024 15:10

Well she’s a bit of a hyperbolic drama queen isn’t she? How many times can she shoehorn ‘hate’ into one speech?

And the Met really have better things to do than be called out for snickering ffs - get a grip love

SinnerBoy · 17/02/2024 15:35

NitroNine · Today 03:34

Is she saying the moths are also transphobic

Oh, certainly! I there's one thing we've all learned from these discussions, it's that EVERYTHIING is transphobic.

Villagetoraiseachild · 17/02/2024 16:02

Wheeze cackling like Mutley over this storm in a tea cup.
Mind you moths in a wool shop, not ideal....

I Wouldn't be buying my wool from there if I knew that! knowing my luck I'd bring the beasties home and end up infested at home!

NitroNine · 17/02/2024 16:34

Moths in a wool shop sounds like an idiom to go with the bull (or elephant, depending on which language you’re in) in the china shop 🤔

A bit like TRAs in fact: wee creepy things sneakily doing damage unseen & unrealised; then a few people notice a couple of wee holes in things; some people find the problem has spread into their own home; & suddenly BOOM! mothsplosion/the TRAkeover & we just live in their world. (I do not have sufficient moth knowledge to construct a robust analogy, but there’s probably a lepidopterist on here who can do so, Because Mumsnet).

@Corksoles really hope the women your one mentioned is ok 😔

I'm sure that the evil, transphobic pram-pusher put the moths in there deliberately. I've no evidence to support it, but I'm 100% certain.
