Well done them. I suspect they're not a wealthy organisation yet they're standing up to the trans bullies. Some of the larger male dominated sporting organisations should take note.

BreadInCaptivity · 16/02/2024 21:59

They've got balls 🎱

Helleofabore · 16/02/2024 23:17

I shall be watching closely

This is a big deal. I really wish it wasn't pool being the first one to defend this because they have small pockets and less of a catalogue of evidence of sex difference because its always been male dominated.

That said, the law is clear and so I expect they show win, unless someone from the other side is willing to just outspend them and force settlement.

Well done them!

I am impressed, firstly that they chose to have a female and an open category to pre-empt this situation in the first place , and secondly that they are prepared to stand up to bullying tactics to get them to stand down from their decision.

I hope other sports governing bodies take note , and don’t chicken out of their responsibilities to protect their members’ best interest. Looking at you Park Run.

TheSlantedOwl · 17/02/2024 00:16

Well done. Very impressed and grateful for their courage.

Snowypeaks · 17/02/2024 00:23

Good for them. Pool's a gender-affected sport so even GRC holders can be excluded + comparator for discrimination claim on GR grounds is person of same sex so it should be a straightforward win, I reckon. IANAL

Harriet Haynes must have had an incredibly interesting style of play if gender reassignment [surgery] has altered it 😵‍💫

Jaysus when will men understand that they cannot become women any more than they can wolves, watchtowers, wetwipes, windows, the Wu-Tang Clan, or any other fecking thing. They don’t any one of them “feel like a woman” either - the neck on them! The only reason that shite could gain traction was patriarchal bollocks (with a dash of homophobia). No, they’re men who’ve decided their man feelings must be woman!feelings ✨because reasons✨ & it’s expected women (aka service humans) play along with this utter absurdity.

Women in the UK have never had equity, let’s face it. We were still trying to reach there when the TRAs started grabbing everything feminists had fought so hard for back, with MRAs delightedly crowing about how women had had it too good for too long. With all their being treated like human beings etc. Ugh.

May this bring another win & yet more sunshine on what in this case is “just” effectively cheating; but in some sports is risking the safety of others to the point of life-altering injury or even death.

This is great news indeed, but @donquixotedelamancha the sport of pool having small pockets 😂geddit?!?! Oh you do tease us!
