Comment "removed for not meeting community guidelines" (MSN) - facts not allowed?

Just had a message to say my comment was removed for not meeting community guidelines.
The article was about Liz Truss coming out against wokeism. Someone has posted many lengthy comments about how "males all start as females" and "men are part women because they have an X chromosome" and "men have nipples so they start out as female" and that their midwife friend has seen so many babies born with ambiguous genitals that they say it is very common etc.

I posted a completely factual non-confrontational post that DSDs are 0.018% of all live births, that even within that number a fraction have genitals so ambiguous that we are unable to instantly tell the sex of the child, and that males do not start out as females; this theory was debunked decades ago. All completely factual.

My comment was deleted for not "meeting community guidelines" and yet this idiot has posted many non-factual completely fabricated nonsense, and it is permitted to stand?

Is this the brave new world? As long as your comments follow the ideology, you can post whatever utter nonsense you like. But now you are not allowed to counter it with actual facts.

Strange times.

Please write back to them and explain; and ask why they deleted your factual post. They always answer in my experience.

What ScrollingLeaves said. Appeal.

@HootyMcBooby. Please do what @ScrollingLeaves and @Snowypeaks suggest.

Did you use any contentious terminology? It sounds like your post was targeted, and that MN maybe erred and took it down by mistake. If you did, repost without the term, if you didn't, challenge it. I've had posts reinstated before, they will be able to justify why they removed it if they meant to but they do make mistakes.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/02/2024 13:24

Which thread was it @HootyMcBooby ?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/02/2024 13:25

Ah, reading again, do you mean it wasn't on Mumsnet? I can totally believe that then.

Not on Mumsnet, it was an MSN story about Liz Truss actually! It had gone off on a tangent about wokeism in general in the comments.
I made sure to not use any words which could be construed as problematic and I only posted facts.
But facts don't exist in 2024.

How ridiculous. It's so frustrating when that happened. I once posted some facts about the real trans murder figure to some smug guy on Facebook, and either he or someone else reported me, so my post was deleted and then I got blocked by the page for posting, so had to watch this guy crowing about how I couldn't back up my claim and had run away. Wankers.

ThriceThriceThice · 07/02/2024 15:13

That’s interesting- in 2020 I posted a comment under an article on the UnHerd website contradicting a claim by another commenter that 5% of births were intersex - I was extremely polite and factual and I even a linked to a journal article.

I was banned as a result and got no reply to my emails asking why. My guess is the moderation is outsourced and trigger happy activists or algorithms are at work.

It actually did me a favour as I was spending too much time online during lockdown but I remember thinking how frightening it was that even on a website that’s supposed to challenge orthodoxy there could be such absolute censorship of alternative viewpoints.

I was barred on Mumsnet and had my account closed because of GC views. Glad that this new account is now working and can take comfort in collective endeavour
