Just read his Twitter and he said he hopes to be editor-in-chief soon. Good news!
I'm more a centrist conservative but we need the news media of all stripes to fairly report the news in a healthy democracy.

GC, blast cannot edit subject line

ArabellaScott · 26/01/2024 09:58

Same here. It seems incredibly unlikely he would end up at the Guardian.

nauticant · 26/01/2024 10:00

Hmmm.

Apollo441 · 26/01/2024 10:14

No way.

sumac · 26/01/2024 10:22

He is joking.

thatsthewayitis · 26/01/2024 10:32

Here it's the end of the twitter post on the Democrats. https://twitter.com/afneil/status/1750809808888803813

The Telegraph and Spectator may be bought by the UAEmirates and he is very much against it.

Blimey! That would be a real turn up for the books.

Apollo441 · 26/01/2024 10:51

I think that was a joke.

Madcats · 26/01/2024 10:52

That has to be a throwaway comment, surely?

Everybody is still waiting patiently to see whether Guardian online can be arsed to publish Susannah Rustin's Opinion piece about the recent employment tribunals in their online edition. It only seems to be in the print edition.

Justin Webb was talking about it on R4 about 4 hours ago.

SheerLucks · 26/01/2024 10:53

He's joking surely!!

PronounssheRa · 26/01/2024 10:58

It would be hilarious just to see the reaction of LOJ, but yes think it was a throw away comment

It's here

The law is now clear: you can’t be sacked for having gender-critical views. So why does it keep happening? | Susanna Rustin

A slew of employment tribunals shows many women have been wrongly disciplined for expressing beliefs on gender and sex, says Guardian writer Susanna Rustin

Only 4 hours after a mention on the Today Programme. I wonder if they have added her to the list of columnists whose first names begin with "S".

I hope it gets trending. It was a decent piece, I thought.

I can clearly remember the moment I found out that Maya Forstater, the NGO researcher who lost her job in 2018 because of her gender-critical beliefs, had lost her employment tribunal. This was in December 2019, and it chilled me because I share Forstater’s view about the importance of biological sex.

Blimey, if LOJ reads that he'll have an embolism.

Madcats · 26/01/2024 12:49

LOJ is busy Xing about Palestine.

He possibly can't multi-task

SinnerBoy · 26/01/2024 14:14

Oh, thank goodness for that!
