Just listened to this podcast with Norwegian podcaster Henrik Beckheim - warning it's nearly 2 hours - but it is one of the most powerful Helen Joyce interviews I've heard to date.

Helen Joyce: Trans is a godless neo-religion. Gender identity, ideology and drag show story hour.

You can also listen to the episode with Helen Joyce on my Spotify channel here: https://open.spotify.com/episode/6UWz3ozPoyjZ7AeXRlSftr?si=22cf901487774a1aMa...

I got half way through last night and I’m planning to finish it tonight. Every time I listen to Helen I learn something new. I admire her talent for clear explanations of tricksy concepts 🤩

WarriorN · 03/01/2024 09:17

Probably why the bbc won't have her on.

She's too good and the whole corporation would come crashing down.

It’s insane that neither BBC nor RTÉ will have her on any shows. As she says herself, in Ireland we love inviting anyone who’s done well for themselves abroad onto TV - we’re often proud of our expats to an embarrassing degree 😊 - it’s very much an intentional snub by RTÉ that she has never been invited to be involved in any programming. The broadsheets here have also deliberately ignored her too.

Stephen Nolan has had her on his BBC Radio Ulster show at least once, so that’s something (he has invited Malcolm Clarke from LGB Alliance on too) but other than that it’s tumbleweeds here, North and South of the border 🙄🤷‍♀️

Has she ever been on question time? Would love to see her and Douglas Murray on a panel.
...with Crispin Blunt & ...who else? Kier Starmer?

buckeejit · 03/01/2024 13:08

Ooh 2 hours of Helen? Excellent. I wish I was half as articulate as she is, love her!

I've bookmarked it. I'll confess that I've already been snagged by HJ's bookcase and I'm trying to work out what the book is towards the top right where she's got the cover facing forward.

Lottapianos · 03/01/2024 13:32

Thanks for sharing, will definitely watch later. She's a brilliant communicator and always a joy to listen to

This is so true (I'm Irish)

RethinkingLife · 03/01/2024 13:54

I said this on another thread but I'd seriously take a 2nd job if HJ ever considered a coaching | training sideline in presentation, effective writing and speaking.

WarriorN · 03/01/2024 14:13

Very interesting that's she's renamed her book trans.

It's still trans but she's changed the "when reality meets ideology" part to something to do with gender identity

(Can't find it online anywhere)

Thank you @flyingbuttress43

Just finished, that was fantastic! I adore Helen.

Favourite quotes

“We validated the delusion and lost control of the (psychiatric) ward”

“The first time that somebody said to one of these men, ok I’ll call you a woman, that was the original mistake… now we’re going to have to row back and say to these men who have been validated in their delusions, sorry we’ve now realised that validating your delusion meant that we’ve lost control of the ward, we need control of the ward, you’re going to have to go back to not forcing other people to go along with your delusions.”

”If you wouldn’t be happy for your employees to have Allah is great or Jesus rose for your sins on an email signature then you shouldn’t be happy for them to have pronouns.”

If my employer ever asks me to put pronouns on my email signature or identity badge I will say “I prefer to remain politically and ideologically neutral in the workplace.”

TheMarzipanDildo · 03/01/2024 16:09

Ta for the link, love Helen. She’s so logical and funny. And she has a nice accent.

BoreOfWhabylon · 03/01/2024 16:57

Terrific interview. The Henrik chap was very good, I thought, and did far, far more listening than talking.

buckeejit · 03/01/2024 17:24

@RethinkingLife I also was intrigued by the bookcase & took a screenshot early on to zoom in! 😂.

Absolutely agree, I think she'd be an excellent mentor & would love to work with/for her!

Love all of this. Just love Helen tbh ❤️

MrsOvertonsWindow · 03/01/2024 18:26

She's so clear and articulate. And nails all the batshittery so well.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 03/01/2024 18:31

I haven't heard this podcaster before. He's good. He's clearly paid attention to her book and done his research.

TheSandgroper · 05/01/2024 15:56

Thanks for this. I find I scroll YT regularly looking for her latest interviews. And Elaine Miller.

Fenlandia · 05/01/2024 17:59

Every time I hear a new Helen Joyce interview, she is a bit more cross and robust in her reasoning than the last one. She is a force of nature!

Heh! That is true! I just watched this. I reckon since I came onto MN my attention-span has definitely improved; I don't think I'd have been interested in sitting through a two hour podcast a couple of years ago! 😃Helen is brilliant and such a good natural speaker.

nepeta · 05/01/2024 19:47

It's a good interview, well worth watching. Though for those of us who have been in this battle for many years there is not much new material, her ability to create short, crystal-clear and accurate answers about the horrible intellectual mess the tras have created is nothing short of miraculous.

PotteringPondering · 05/01/2024 19:51

Helen brilliant as always. Good that the format here gives her chance to expand some of her points.
