I think this is about amateur boxing and Olympic qualification.

They are allowing trans-women to compete in women’s boxing, and trans-men to compete in men's boxing, depending on surgery and testosterone levels.

I don't know what the surgery requirement actually involves.

Not that it could make things appropriate or fair or safe, whatever it is. Unless maybe they have to have their arms removed.

I wonder how many women will be seriously injured before this is reversed because that's what will have to happen eventually 🤷‍♀️

Interesting that the MtoF requirement is 'has completed gender reassignment surgery' and the FtoM is 'has had gender reassignment surgery'.

But both (particularly the latter) suggest the rules were written by someone who hasn't the first fucking idea what they are talking about.

At least in amateur boxing I think there's mandatory head protection and more rules about KOs, so if we're lucky it will be reconsidered after 'only' some serious injuries rather than deaths.

When the inevitable happens I want to know who they are so I can widely shout their name and drum up enough money to sue the stupidity out of all NGBs on this.

Its either this, or there are people within the sport who want womens boxing to end.

Rules don’t even make sense and are probably just being used as a proxy for commitment. A man having completed surgery doesn’t have more impact on his upper body strength than hormone suppression.

well what's going to happen immediately is a lot less mums and dads saying yes when their daughter wants to go to a boxing class.
