Love this man.
Leave the kids alone 👍

I managed five minutes of the video - it’s hard hitting and has very upsetting photos of teenage girls with double mastectomy scars.

It features the Irish butcher who uses Instagram to drum up business from teenage girls using unbelievably trivialising language (“I only got to yeet four teets this week” crying emoji x3 with sad face selfie) as well as overjoyed looking moms wearing t-shirts proudly stating that the “teets” of their young daughters have been “yeeted”.

There is a young girl featured who had a double mastectomy just before she turned 13.

These adults - the butcher, her staff, the parents - are abhorrent. I hope they are investigated.

The last time I saw some of the young people who'd been through that surgeon's hands I was horrified by how obvious the self-cutting scars were on the legs of so many of them.

I can't believe that anyone would ever consent self-harming young people for surgery without extensive psychiatric assessment and sign-off.

The double mastectomies are a gruesome development in their self harming. Why that American mom is smiling about it is beyond me, and why the Irish Scythe is allowed to carry out this harm in a so-called first-world hospital setting is a scandal.

Thank you Mr Menno brilliant yet so sad.

For anyone like me who has never heard of Abigail Martinez, I recommend you watch her heartbreaking testimony at about 26 minutes in.

Has JVN actually responded to this?
Isn't Menno amazing?

Does anyone know why the scarring on women who have double mastectomy for gender identity reasons is so different and so, so much worse than women who have the same procedure for breast cancer reasons? It's quite striking and I don't understand why. Some of these young girls look like they have been hacked about with garden shears.

FrancescaContini · 09/12/2023 10:20

I don’t know but I agree with you completely. It’s macabre, like the worst kind of sick joke. I can’t get over the moms smiling at their teenage daughters being hacked at in this way. Over my dead body would the Scythe get anywhere near my DDs.

I suspect that women who have mastectomies as part of the treatment for breast cancer have the surgery done with the intention for restoration of some sort (e.g., an implant). The need for radiotherapy (where present) may also change the tissue and this may influence choices around the timing of restoration. (I'm ignoring issues around the need to balance surgery healing v. timing of chemotherapy.)

Gender affirming care seems to involve complete extirpation and removal of every plausible screed and minim of the tissue in a way that resembles a religious cleansing ritual. For the very young in the video, I'd be very troubled about what will happen when they continue to grow.
