Scottish government announces first-of-its-kind Non-Binary Action Plan

How have we survived without even knowing we even needed this? Had to post to let everyone know!

With plans to fund research on the experience of non-binary individuals in Scotland, the project will similarly provide additional training to fertility preservation providers in order to address the unique healthcare needs of non-binary patients. Public bodies and services throughout Scotland will similarly receive guidance under the new plan, particularly addressing name change services for trans and non-binary people.

Equalities Minister Emma Roddick announced the plan, saying that it will “contribute to improving the experiences of non-binary people and begin to tackle some of the challenges that they currently face in their everyday lives. Our vision is for Scotland to be the place where everyone’s identity is recognised, respected and celebrated.”

Following the announcement of the five-year plan, seven LGBTQ+ charity organisations throughout Scotland have welcomed the terms with open arms. The organisations include Scottish Trans, Equality Network, LGBT Youth Scotland, Stonewall Scotland, LGBT Health and Wellbeing, LEAP Sports and Time for Inclusive Education.

Stonewall, the UK’s largest LGBTQ+ rights organisation, issued a statement praising the Scottish Government for becoming “the first government in the world” to put this kind of plan into action.

Am I the first to comment? I suspect everyone is still reeling from the virtue signalling stupidity of it. I'm just about climbing out of it.

I'm not in Scotland but even I know about the huge increase in drug-related deaths, the low life expectancy, the lack of ferries to the islands which still seem to have swallowed up £billions.

But mythical NBs - that's where it's at, obviously.

Wow, I wish we had a Goth Action Plan back in my day and someone was fighting for my rights to have snakebite and black available in every pub and wear a dog collar at work and not get laughed at.

Why is this latest subculture taken soooo seriously man?

Goth Action Plan - yes, suspect there are more Goths than trans. And, worth remembering that a young woman was murdered for wearing Goth clothing.

And on a more lighthearted note, all those Jedi, and lets not forget the ageing hippies who are still hoping for peace and love.

It is incomprehensible why this current fad is being institutionalised.
