The sycophancy always gives it away

Just had this experience...

I'm reading the Hunger Games prequel at the moment. Decided to go on Reddit (that was my first mistake, lol) to check out info for the new film. There's a picture of one of the characters from the film - the picture is a very zoomed-in still that doesn't look anything like what I'd imagined for the character, but all the comments are identical -- "she's so beautiful" / "she's so pretty" / "perfect casting", etc. And just from that I know...

Off to google, and YEP - they've given the role to a trans actor.

There's a notable absence of criticism in the comments. Every female actor usually has someone popping into the comment section from their moral high-horse to educate us all on the terrible errors of judgment an actress has made personally or by association. No female actress with a cleft chin receives breathless, uniform plaudits about their beauty on Reddit.

I am so sick of these fawning, be-kind, bend-over-backwards, over-correcting sycophants.

Yes Rachel Zegler has been the target of some pretty horrible criticism (misogyny if you ask me). And she really is pretty, beautiful, good casting etc.

Yes, she was great in West Side Story so I'm looking forward to seeing what she brings to the role. She really looks how I imagined Lucy!

Tbf the criticism levelled at Rachel Zegler all seems to be about her casting in the Snow White live action. Some about her being miscast as she's dark skinned and saying it's a "woke" casting decision, but mostly about her interviews where she criticises the Snow White story and the original film.
Disney fans do not like her for this at all.
The double standard for me here is that Robert Pattinson got no such fan hate for his constant criticism of Twilight. But hey 🤷‍♀️

Is this Hunter Schafer? Some selections from their journal which they posted to Instagram a few years ago -

“My gender was so influenced by a need to be used by men”

“My sexual orientation was not gay, it was not straight, it was an attraction, is an attraction, always to misogyny.”

“Not feeling femme enough w/o being a victim of r*pe”

”something to be used by men” = women

So for these, very special, people, allowing predatory men to access vulnerable women is (cliche alert) a feature not a bug.

These porn addicts really believe women are just submissive sex toys, don't they?

Holy moly, imagine a non-trans male writing that...

Now Jimmy Fallon is in trouble for repeatedly calling him ‘bud’ in an interview.
