Just had this experience...
I'm reading the Hunger Games prequel at the moment. Decided to go on Reddit (that was my first mistake, lol) to check out info for the new film. There's a picture of one of the characters from the film - the picture is a very zoomed-in still that doesn't look anything like what I'd imagined for the character, but all the comments are identical -- "she's so beautiful" / "she's so pretty" / "perfect casting", etc. And just from that I know...
Off to google, and YEP - they've given the role to a trans actor.
There's a notable absence of criticism in the comments. Every female actor usually has someone popping into the comment section from their moral high-horse to educate us all on the terrible errors of judgment an actress has made personally or by association. No female actress with a cleft chin receives breathless, uniform plaudits about their beauty on Reddit.
I am so sick of these fawning, be-kind, bend-over-backwards, over-correcting sycophants.
