Attending a regional meeting about sexism, one of the talks was about "gender discrimination". I asked in the q&a at the end why the speaker chose to use the term gender instead of sex. My comment was deleted. Why can't we even talk about this?!

Terrifying. Do they even know what "sexism" means? Hint: it has the word sex in it...
Can you complain?

They sound pretty transphobic if they're pretending that a person's sex is the same thing as their gender.

Sadly the NHS seems to be completely captured. This bs goes right to the top.

When I worked in the NHS i complained about the use of 'cis women' in policies and asked for it to be changed to 'female bodied'. The bs excuse they gave is that people wouldn't know what it meant.

I said if you work in a healthcare and you don't know what female bodied means then God help us all.

It's so embedded within the NHS that most people would never raise it for fear of losing jobs/positions/advancement.

The NHS is so captured that the absence of full-throated and vociferous support is judged as equally deplorable to being anti their preferred stance.
