I say this every time Hannah Barnes’ book is mentioned, but I still can’t get my head round it - GIDS had their own research and audit team.
GIDS HAD THEIR OWN RESEARCH AND AUDIT TEAM.
I’d say it again in massive writing if I knew how to do the massive writing thing.
It was the most astonishing revelation in the book, to me, and isn’t mentioned until near the end.
As an NHS senior nurse I had to monitor and report on treatments, outcomes, patient satisfaction surveys, participate in clinical research and audit my caseload on a regular basis. On my own, with no research or audit team to help me. This meant I had to keep excellent patient records, and write and present an annual report to the Trust board.
This is standard procedure for all NHS services.
GIDS had their own research and audit team and I’d like to know what the actual FUCK they did all day.
