That's a good sensible article. https://archive.is/MjCWM (link to non-paywalled article)

Forgot we're not supposed to post archive links. Ah well. If anyone else can't see the article it is on a well-known archive site.

Otherwise, I said that's a good sensible article.

Thanks for posting a non-paywalled link Gasp0de. I usually hit the ‘reader’ button on my browser while Telegraph articles are loading and that allows me to read them. I do miss 12ft ladder tho - that site was great for accessing articles behind paywalls but it seems to have been killed off recently.

The ladder still works for me.

ArthurbellaScott · 13/11/2023 16:46

Sorry, that article is from May

MrsOvertonsWindow · 13/11/2023 17:06

That was a very revealing article Arthurbella. Of course he reverse ferreted claiming his words were "taken out of context" 😅. But it's an indication of how those on the anti child safeguarding gravy train will not give up their power easily.

I say this every time Hannah Barnes’ book is mentioned, but I still can’t get my head round it - GIDS had their own research and audit team.

GIDS HAD THEIR OWN RESEARCH AND AUDIT TEAM.

I’d say it again in massive writing if I knew how to do the massive writing thing.

It was the most astonishing revelation in the book, to me, and isn’t mentioned until near the end.

As an NHS senior nurse I had to monitor and report on treatments, outcomes, patient satisfaction surveys, participate in clinical research and audit my caseload on a regular basis. On my own, with no research or audit team to help me. This meant I had to keep excellent patient records, and write and present an annual report to the Trust board.

This is standard procedure for all NHS services.

GIDS had their own research and audit team and I’d like to know what the actual FUCK they did all day.

That’s encouraging news 👍

Not research and audit, clearly. Which was such a wasted opportunity.

heathspeedwell · 13/11/2023 17:51

I thought it was incredibly telling that a doctor who specialised in epilepsy had to speak up for Hannah at the conference and point out that everyone agrees that children with epilepsy need evidence based care.

Why is it just children struggling with gender who don't deserve treatment that is based on factual observation? What exactly are Hanna's detractors trying to hide?

MrsOvertonsWindow · 13/11/2023 17:56

Every time I read threads like this I get a chill that the NHS has for years via GIDS been experimenting on children with no evidence, data and research - just following the demands of mainly male transactivists.

I still find it hard to believe that these people have not been locked up and the key thrown away.

Early days.

I totally agree about the chill down the spine aspect @MrsOvertonsWindow

Great article.

@MavisMcMinty I assume the role of their research team was to pull in all of the WPATH info and network within the wider world of "evidence", rather than doing anything with their own data. I remember in the book that there was surprise expressed (by one of the ex-staff she spoke to) at how GIDS was more like a corporate entity than an NHS department and were often at large conferences. Perhaps that was the research team's focus?

I'm really hoping that the information on what's happening to children is what breaks through the public discourse at a large enough level to finally remove gender identity belief from everywhere that it's been baked in. It's just not quite loud enough yet in the press - the BBC and Guardian news suppression on the whole wider topic is still holding fort. But it's the damage to children that can't be hidden for too much longer, surely. It's the one issue that the majority of the population would agree is abhorrent if they really understood what was happening. Sadly because it's still happening, and ex-GIDS staff are reorganising (and the Genspect framework is possibly compromised - we don't know, but there are warning flags after the conference last week) to circumvent the Cass Review, and schools are still filling the funnel up at the front end with socially transitioning children, the numbers of children still being harmed are continuing to rise 😢 At some point the number of detransitioners will get large enough for it to get blown wide open as the huge scandal that it is. I'm still hoping it doesn't have to come to that and can be stopped earlier.

This, just constantly on repeat. There’s never been an answer to it. It’s shocking.

Activist-led politicised medicine has flourished of a failure of NHS leadership and NHS safeguarding culture. Sorry. I really love the NHS and I owe it my life. But when it gave in to male validation wants, it OKed leaving permanent experimentation effects on god knows how many kids.

Excellent, if worrying, summation of things, Bonfire

Maybe I’m naive but I’m amazed that senior doctors from a hospital unit that the Care Quality Commission found to be inadequate are allowed to apply for senior posts in the new clinics. I would have thought that their history would count against them in the interview process for the new posts.

I honestly can’t understand why the Cass report information hasn’t put the stake through the heart of this vampire ideology that keeps on colonising the NHS.
