"Be Kind" in action in Liverpool

Saw this last night, in a bar in Liverpool.

This is what happens when politicians go for producing empty soundbites rather than anything of actual substance.

I'm no fan of Sunak politically, but for a movement that exhorts everyone to "be kind", there's no practising what they preach...

What disturbs me most is all the letters being capitals other than the i.
Looks like it's been written by one of those 1970s mentally disturbed kidnappers.

MichelleScarn · 22/10/2023 09:08

But this shows its not 'be kind' to all, its 'do what I want/say or you're not in the gang'.

LoobiJee · 22/10/2023 09:18

So what’s their point?

Are they saying that because he isn’t tall, he’s not a man?

Or that being short means he isn’t allowed to express a viewpoint?

Or that the worst way you can insult a man is by comparing him to a toy marketed at female children?

Lottapianos · 22/10/2023 09:23

That doesn't even make any sense. A man who is shorter than average is still a man. How childish and pathetic

I can never understand the sneering about his height anyway. As far as I know, he's 5'6 which is shorter than average but hardly remarkable

Brewdug · 22/10/2023 09:26

So stupid it's actually made me feel sympathy towards Sunak. Psy-ops, perhaps? I wouldn't be spending a penny in that bar.

Essenceofpetunia · 22/10/2023 09:28

Agree @LoobiJee. Shooting themselves in the foot somewhat if they’re saying that someone who is short can’t possibly be a man. Loads of transmen are short, plus they have vulvas. Those people can be men but Sunak can’t because he’s a bit shorter than average? Make it make sense!

Catsanfan · 22/10/2023 09:31

What a kind message! JFC They really do love hypocrisy! Arseholes

RudsyFarmer · 22/10/2023 09:32

Short people aren’t entitled to identify as the sex they were born in? A little disablist to those born with growth disorders surely?

Flyingthroughtrees · 22/10/2023 09:33

Well we all know they think man and woman is defined solely by crude stereotypes, so they are being true to form really.

And we all know they are spiteful arseholes with no coherent arguments but just daft insults, so again, true to form.

FlirtsWithRhinos · 22/10/2023 09:50

I think (and this may as usual be me crediting the performative, tribal version of "woke" with a lot more credit than I should) their logic is...

  1. Sunak says "A man is a man"
  1. He means a biological man
  2. The biological characteristics of men include being taller than Sunak
  3. Therefore by his own logic he is either not a man, or a very inferior one
  4. Ha ha Sunak self-owned, what a twat.

And this is because those idiots have been lead by the nose to believe that we believe a man or woman is a set of arbitrary unrelated physical characteristics and if enough of them match you get to be a man or you get to be a woman. Hence their obsession with butch women, or in this case short men, as some kind of gotcha.

Or, it could just be a childish insult lobg the lines of "who'd listen to you, you're ugly" without even as much thought as I've credited them.

ResisterRex · 22/10/2023 09:53

It's spiteful and stupid. It's not even like Sunak ever tries to stage things so he looks taller. He's not bothered by his height. As a gotcha, this doesn't work at all.

PermanentTemporary · 22/10/2023 09:53

I can't stand the short man jokes about Sunak. And others. I know quite a few shorter men who are fantastic and women will literally say to their faces that they could never be with someone shorter. All I can say is they are missing out through sheer sexism.

Agree entirely that they think comparing Sunak to a girl's toy is the ultimate out down because to them femininity is female and femininity is (sexy) humiliation. Stupid, stupid, chauvinist idiots.

Abhannmor · 22/10/2023 12:37

Very stupid and sexist. And what about tall women? There are really men I suppose. Not a classic example of scouse wit . 3/10

MavisMcMinty · 22/10/2023 13:01

How embarrassing. Whatever happened to “natural Scouse wit”?

Whatsnewpussyhat · 22/10/2023 13:08

The genderists never have a sense of humour though no matter where they're from.
There's also a large student population in liverpool which I would assume this is pandering to.

SidewaysOtter · 22/10/2023 13:37

The inhumanity and intolerance of those who would pride themselves on their liberality, progressiveness and kindness never fails to astound me.

Rightsraptor · 22/10/2023 14:10

Wikipedia tells me Rishi Sunak is 1.7m tall (approximately 5ft 7in), which may be average height for a male of his ethnicity. Anyone know?

This seems the same sort of 'logic' that says a man with a big penis is more of a man than one with a smaller one.

Primitive thinking.

eveoha · 22/10/2023 14:29

its a bit of much needed humour in these dark times - But Rishi is really not being ‘kind’ to the general populace is he now ☘️👍🏿😐

guinnessguzzler · 23/10/2023 14:50

I have often wondered if the comments about Sunak's height are actually racist given, as a PP has noted, he is likely fairly average height for someone of his ethnicity. I'm surprised this hasn't been pointed out before. As well as sexist since the insinuation is he isn't man enough or something. I'm not a fan but I'd say there's plenty to criticise about him before trying to belittle (!) him for his height. In any case, yes, TRA nonsense as usual.

MavisMcMinty · 23/10/2023 16:33

Is it OK to mock Sunak for the length - or the lack of length - of his trousers? Because I really don’t know why he does that, unless he wants us all to think he’s too tall for most men’s trousers.

It's fashion. Nothing more nothing less.

UnwieldyRhombus · 23/10/2023 16:52

It really grinds my gears when otherwise progressive people give men stick or act like they're somehow 'less of a man' for being short. It's so nasty and ridiculous.

RebelliousCow · 24/10/2023 16:55

Which bar was that in, can I ask?
