You may attend in person or remote viewing has been quite limited but you can request log in details from

Header should read

URGENT CURRENT CASE - Public Access Request - J Phoenix - The Open University - 3322700/2021

Ask for access link and pin and please give your name and address in the email as they check when you connect to the tribunal.

The clerk will ask you (in a private remote room) to put your camera on to verify, this involves looking at you, but no ID is needed. You may turn off your camera after this pointless and unnecessary process.

DD: c JP - it's not what she said it's the way she said it

LargeSquareRock · 18/10/2023 11:57

Steve is being dumped on again. Poor Steve.

chilling19 · 18/10/2023 11:57

Who has she thrown under the bus so far? Steve?

ickky · 18/10/2023 11:57

DD: c JP - it's not what she said it's the way she said it

It must have been the "tone"

OP posts:
Mmmnotsure · 18/10/2023 11:58

The ever-present Steve doesn't seem to figure in the list of witnesses

ickky · 18/10/2023 11:59

Why isn't Steve Tombs giving any evidence?

OP posts:
Waitwhat23 · 18/10/2023 11:59

Who the hell is Steve?

ickky · 18/10/2023 11:59

Head of Herc apparently.

OP posts:
CriticalCondition · 18/10/2023 12:00

Steve was head of HERC

Normcore · 18/10/2023 12:00

Blame the person who isn’t there and can’t reply

DavidChecker · 18/10/2023 12:01

Sorry, HERC means?

ickky · 18/10/2023 12:02

So JP had to run everything she was doing by all members of Herc? WTF

OP posts:
CriticalCondition · 18/10/2023 12:02

DD thought mention of pronouns in the open letter signed by JP would have been upsetting to two members of her staff. And I was upset by it.

ickky · 18/10/2023 12:02

Why do they all feel entitled to a heads up from JP when no one else does it?

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 18/10/2023 12:03

Sorry, was a bit behind and I see marshmallows have been dealt with.

'Due diligence' in this case presumably consisted of diligently asking their local Stonewall rep what is the Correct Opinion on this topic, and proceeding to follow and enforce it.

Mmmnotsure · 18/10/2023 12:03

DD: c pronouns. Two members of my dept would have been affected by this in the letter

BC: Nothing in the letter c OU. Just SW

DD: I got upset. Re-read it. And then reflected. Not necessarily a slight agst OU but that was my original impression

Steve is the one on the left. I'm thinking DD might be the one on the right.

These dehydrated marshmallows....is there a picture? Have you ever dehydrated a Tunnocks teacake?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 18/10/2023 12:04

I can take a guess which two members of her staff were upset by the comment about pronouns.

Mmmnotsure · 18/10/2023 12:04

BC: I'll try again re q. Did you understand at the time about the debate c pronoun use that hasn't yet achieved a consensus

Nicely slipped in, Ben

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 18/10/2023 12:04

HERC is the Harm & Evidence Research Collaborative.

Redshoeblueshoe · 18/10/2023 12:05

Thanks for the new thread ickky

pronounsbundlebundle · 18/10/2023 12:06

Harm and Evidence? How can they assess harm if they shut down one viewpoint and any collection of evidence?

Poor Steve, he's the fall guy and doesn't even have his day in court.

ickky · 18/10/2023 12:06

No official detriment!!! for signing the letter.

OP posts:
Mmmnotsure · 18/10/2023 12:07

BC: entirely appropriate letter for an ac to sign?

DD: She was free to do it

BC: within her ac freedom

DD: yes

BC: agree shouldn't be subject to detriment as a result

DD: not official detriment, not

BC: I am interested in your use of official...
