You may attend in person or remote viewing has been quite limited but you can request log in details from

[email protected]

Header should read

URGENT CURRENT CASE - Public Access Request - J Phoenix - The Open University - 3322700/2021

Ask for access link and pin and please give your name and address in the email as they check when you connect to the tribunal.

The clerk will ask you (in a private remote room) to put your camera on to verify, this involves looking at you, but no ID is needed. You may turn off your camera after this pointless and unnecessary process.

Once this is over I will be making a complaint about the online management of this conference

Fink · 18/10/2023 16:24

Is this the first defence witness that JM has questioned? I don't remember seeing any others but I didn't get to hear PB and whoever else was up first.

SidewaysOtter · 18/10/2023 16:24

Had to go to a meeting - are we on a break?

Mmmnotsure · 18/10/2023 16:24

Had to go to a meeting - are we on a break?

Yes, but it'll be over v soon so log on if you can

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 18/10/2023 16:25

I think there was 1 previous witness who had a single 'point of clarification' followup from JM.

I had the same idea, actually. It has been pretty bad.

We shouldn't be subjected to the whims of the clerk, in this way.

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 18/10/2023 16:26

Want to give witness chance to address this. Just raising this or it'll go into submissions.

So that's what a falling guillotine sounds like.

chilling19 · 18/10/2023 16:27

Ok we are back

ickky · 18/10/2023 16:28

I will too, it really has been bad.

All the bollocks about capacity etc. I know it is wrong as it the exact (I am using exact in it's true meaning) same server that did Allison's and Maya's which had 200 + observers and lot more shenanigans.

Having to be vetted before being allowed in, the in person people don't get that hassle. It seems designed to put people off which isn't open justice.

Next witness

SD - Shaun Daley, Head OU’s Resourcing Hub. Head Strategic Resources, Co-Chair OU’s LGBT+ Staff Network

I have sound but no visuals - anyone else?

Mmmnotsure · 18/10/2023 16:28

BC: I'm sounding like a broken record with my qs so I'll go through them briefly

chilling19 · 18/10/2023 16:29

All - when this is over, I am going to make a complaint over the online management of this tribunal.p, with American. Let me have your frustrations and let's craft a group complaint.

MyLadyDisdainlsYetLiving · 18/10/2023 16:30

Arse, I may have missed the logon slot.

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 18/10/2023 16:30

DD: Prof Sims didn't know he was coming to speak at conf. It was a surprise.

Er. That's not how it works.

You don't just shove someone onto a stage and shout '🎉 Surprise! 🎉 You're our keynote speaker!', and they give an improptu lecture.

I did think it was an unusual gift to spring an impromptu lecture on someone.

chilling19 · 18/10/2023 16:31

Who is this geezer?

I know, it was beginning to sound like a episode of "This is your Life"

Thanks ickky - I missed your explanation of who is was

Mmmnotsure · 18/10/2023 16:32

Shaun Daley
BC: You wrote to IF. It was unprecedented in your capacity as chair of LGBT network to write to head of faculty c research arrangement of a faculty

SD: [weasel]. Can't say it ws unprecedented. Not just me, writing for other people. We didn't know what ws happening around the GCRN. IF was point of contact for LGBT+ network.

CriticalCondition · 18/10/2023 16:32

Head of staff LGBT group, not an academic.

Not sure how many would be willing to share their names and emails, surely we’re better off doing it individually then we can cite individual difficulties, noting they were the same as TT, so they can’t say no one else had problems.

CriticalCondition · 18/10/2023 16:34

SD - I wasn't on twitter

MyLadyDisdainlsYetLiving · 18/10/2023 16:34

It’s after 4pm which usually means the clerks are thin on the ground, so I am resigned to not hear this session.

Mmmnotsure · 18/10/2023 16:35

SD : I ws writing on behalf of myself and Heather. Also the wider network - people calling for us to take this stance.

BC: you were aware of backlash agst GCRN on sm

SD: pause. To an extent, would have to get into details of level of awareness and when. Not active on twitter

BC: you knew JP was member of LGBT+ network.

SD: I knew she was on emails

BC: and on Yammer

SD: not sure I knew

BC: let me help you (goes to bundle)
