You may attend in person or remote viewing has been quite limited but you can request log in details from

Header should read

URGENT CURRENT CASE - Public Access Request - J Phoenix - The Open University - 3322700/2021

Ask for access link and pin and please give your name and address in the email as they check when you connect to the tribunal.

The clerk will ask you (in a private remote room) to put your camera on to verify, this involves looking at you, but no ID is needed. You may turn off your camera after this pointless and unnecessary process.

Please could I have the link to the article about getting an OU VC sacked/cancelled?

Proper journal publication. (so to speak)

ickky · 18/10/2023 12:55

What a two faced cow. Sympathising with JP then emails someone calling her dramatic.

OP posts:
RocketPanda · 18/10/2023 12:55

More faces than a game of guess who.

Fink · 18/10/2023 12:56

In my (limited) experience, I would expect there to be a very large overlap on the Venn diagram of TRA and their allies and people who have very strong views on environmental protection & green issues ... so it is somewhat surprising to hear how regularly these people change their phones!

To be clear, I expect the diagram to have lots and lots of clear green space on one side - people who care about the environment but are not TRA - but hardly any on the other.

CriticalCondition · 18/10/2023 12:56

BC- quotes a DD email, you recognised JP must be feeling terrible
DD- yep
BC- let's go to some other emails. Quotes other email exchange in which DD says not all protesters are violent

#dehydratedmarshmallowsaremarshmallows

pronounsbundlebundle · 18/10/2023 12:56

Does DD really not know about all the violence these activists have actually committed? There's been quite a lot.

The lack of concern about her staff's safety is surely a failure of duty of care?

Mmmnotsure · 18/10/2023 12:57

BC: difference between your emails to your supervisors (poor Jo) and other emails (JP not fussed, etc). You were being two-faced

ickky · 18/10/2023 12:57

BC - you were being two faced. YES SHE WAS

OP posts:
CriticalCondition · 18/10/2023 12:58

BC takes DD to an email in which she says JP might be going to the media

RoyalCorgi · 18/10/2023 12:58

to have witness after witness after witness sounding like participants at an Alzheimer’s sufferers tea party reflects badly on the institution, not the individuals

This is very true.

Melissamelisante · 18/10/2023 12:59

What a cowbag!

Words and deeds. In my extensive experience those who are the loudest proponents of climate policies which would harm the daily lives of the poorest in society often don't do what they're advocating for - like not flying or disposing of things unnecessarily (e.g. phones).

Again, do it to Julia.

ickky · 18/10/2023 12:59

Exactly = full agreement

BC: You had a really hostile view of JP. You thought she was being manipulative and grandstanding.

DD: I don't think that taking that bit that moment I could be hostile to her in general

BC: reads email sent to DD: I bet JP not stressed out of head but will capitalise on it. Your reply: Exactly. That's what she fails to see, the impact on colleagues.

LarkLane · 18/10/2023 13:00

pronounsbundlebundle · 18/10/2023 12:22

Maybe GC academics should wear badges on their clothes with 'problematic opinions' embroidered on them, so it's easier to know who to avoid, deplatform and marginalise.

I don't know why I'm suggesting this, I think this bunch at the OU would think it's a great idea.

Probably a black triangle. It worked back in the 1940's

Just wanted to highlight this.

- It beggars belief that Dr. Drake didn't know the meaning of gender critical. -

TRA logic, level of thought in a nutshell.

Yes, most of them do seem to operate a model of making it up on the fly, whilst hoping people won't realise.

CriticalCondition · 18/10/2023 13:00

DD - saying 'exactly' doesn't mean I was in full agreement with what he'd said.

#dehydratedmarshmallowsaremarshmallows

With us cantering towards 1/2 term and halloween, I have added both mini and regular marshmallows to my Ocado order.

Should I be aiming for fairly solid cubes?

Madcats · 18/10/2023 13:02

Ignore me; I'll watch the video!

chilling19 · 18/10/2023 13:02

So putting on a face for the boss, then backchannelling nastiness. And this is a Head of Dept?

ickky · 18/10/2023 13:03

from TT
BC: [ref] You say here that you thought JP might go to the media. You were really hostile. You think she is manipulative and grandstanding.
DD: Heat of moment. Cd have been true. Doesn't mean I didn't respect her.

BC: Another from RW. Says Jo milking it, capitalising on it, and says she must not throw Nigel under bus. You reply "exactly".
BC: You are meanwhile writing to your supervisors how much you are supporting JP.
DD: "Exactly" didn't mean I was agreeing with all of it.

1m
BC: You say JP never cares about what impact on colleagues in department, upsetting them. When she i doing legit research.
DD: More about that she's not taking account of whole community. Not hostility.

DD: Was not saying I would treat JP differently from anyone else

BC: What comes across is your attitude is that JP brought it on herself and then claimed victim.
DD: Might have felt that at times but not all the time. Many discussions. Open to many possibilities.

For me this is about the sheer arrogance of the OU staff putting all this IN WRITING. it shows how protected they felt by the institutional culture.
