URGENT CURRENT CASE - Public Access Request - J Phoenix - The Open University - 3322700/2021

Ask for access link and pin and please give your name and address in the email as they check when you connect to the tribunal.

Yes quite an astonishing article

I'm surprised that BC has not brought it up, it shows the have previous experience of bullying and getting people sacked/cancelled.

I think Steve is Steve Tombs. He was in the video posted upthread.

And is now in the HR office, collecting his P45.

Who the hell just has marshmallows hanging around uneaten in the kitchen? That is not normal

Probably just this minute taken delivery of their Tesco shopping @BernardBlacksMolluscs - not had time to unpack them, let alone eat them.

Mmmnotsure · 18/10/2023 12:39

DD starting to sound combative, short and hostile now

Chrysanthemum5 · 18/10/2023 12:39

Do they not realise that all their cancelling and no debate on this issue simply leaves the way for other research areas to be cancelled in future

Chrysanthemum5 · 18/10/2023 12:40

Yes @ickky it's an article laying out exactly how they bully people to remove them

Do you suppose that the OU cares that the appearance of every single member of their staff as unprofessional, prejudiced, with massive memory problems and phone issues, has just devastated their professional reputation?

We could axe all these depts and twits and no one would notice in the real world.

<Hums I've got a little list>

The real world would be a lot better off without academic groups such as this. Can we put the money towards long covid research, or a cure for cancer, please?

Everyone in the dept except Julia.

from TT
BC: You say ppl ("not Julia") wanted non-punitive way forward. Means Dr Downes did want punitive?
DD: No was not like that. Was looking for way for dept to co-exist productive way.

DD wants to be very clear about the WA groups she was a member of.

To be fair she only got a new phone, she didn’t go to the extreme of dropping the old one off a ferry into the depths of the North Sea …………….

Totally agree.

We have people unable to afford to put their heating on, and yet we're funding this bunch of batshit chocolate teapottery.

Emotionalsupportviper · 18/10/2023 12:44

Mmmnotsure · 18/10/2023 11:19

BC: who raised concerns internally prior to cancellation

DD: my memory is shaky

There seem to be a lot of people with senility of the brain in this department. Are they all very old or do they drink? 🤔

JanesLittleGirl · 18/10/2023 12:44

pronounsbundlebundle · 18/10/2023 12:16

I'm beginning to think 'problematic' = 'burn the witch' in academic terms.

I really hate the term 'problematic' now.

The expression 'this is problematic' should mean 'this is a problem that needs to be solved' but actually means 'I have a problem with this and I want it to go away'.

I’d drink A LOT if I had to be a true believer

Whereas I feel it should be reclaimed and worn proudly as a description.

I agree! Meet the 'problematic' 'rights-hoarders' at the sign of the dinosaur?

Mmmnotsure · 18/10/2023 12:47

DD ricochets between using Leigh and Julia all the time, even if she is talking about events at a time when the other name is used.

DD: Poor Leigh, not sure if she could trust JP now

RethinkingLife · 18/10/2023 12:48

Vaguely wondering if the OU managed to offer staff a mahoosive discount on new phones and absinthe gummies in exchange for asserting that, unlike everyone else, they never back up their personal phones or anything that you're obliged to retain for governance purposes..

Mmmnotsure · 18/10/2023 12:48

BC: Cancellation is a serious thing to happen to an academic

DD: I would think so

SinnerBoy · 18/10/2023 12:49

It beggars belief that Dr. Drake didn't know the meaning of gender critical. It simply defies logic, she's completely on the trans side and evidently knows all the support lingo, so how could she not know what she was opposed to?

DewinDwl · 18/10/2023 12:50

Mmmnotsure · 18/10/2023 12:35

BC c Wapp trying to find out if DD in the Wapp group

BC: Do you still have these messages

DD: I don't know. I don't use Wapp ver much. I delete stuff. I have a new phone

Oh fuck here we go...

CriticalCondition · 18/10/2023 12:50

On to cancellation of the Essex lecture.

TRA logic, level of thought in a nutshell.

Only here on MN would you get serious analysis of an Employment Tribunal in progress, Star Wars, Gilbert and Sullivan, Tom Lehrer, Bingo, Snacks, Legal and HR ,commentary and How to Dry Marshmallows. Just a few examples amongst a myriad of other asides.😂

That is because we welcome all viewpoints, and don't just sit in an echo chamber refusing to countenance any other thoughts.

Please could I have the link to the article about getting an OU VC sacked/cancelled?

chilling19 · 18/10/2023 12:53

Some firm turning over pages there

WrensAreAllDinosaurs · 18/10/2023 12:53

I don’t want to derail us too much but all the talk of pronouns - along with BC and all his clients/witnesses doing an amazing job of being the only people who consistently get it right…

He’s showing that actually forcing preferred pronouns is a FOS issue. It’s the trans equivalent of expecting me to curtesy to your King, call your priest Father, recite your prayers. If the TRA community get it wrong it’s brushed over. If I get it wrong it’s offensive, it’s a hate crime, it’s literal violence.

I think we (someone) could win a case on correctly sexing someone now.
