Not only the obvious physical differences but isn't there a slight difference in the reaction between the eye seeing and reflex action between male and female? I read that in something that Dr Emma Hilton posted once.

I take it the woman standing beside him is the actual champion. Fifteen time winner, it should be. Appears to be quite a size difference.

I was a female competitive fencer. Fenced to a high level. Height most definitely makes a difference, especially so in epee. As a very short female I can certainly testify to that.
