I came across this article and it’s a really good list of contradictions within gender ideology. Sharing because, as it says, sometimes pointing out the contradictions can be helpful to open people’s eyes to the absurdity of this ideology (or who knows, maybe could help have a reasoned discussion about it)

The magazine covers is a good one (well, they all are - but that particularly amused me).

I'd like to see any of the tra MPs, of any party, be given the option to pick one of those from that list and explain it. Just one, and they can pick it.

I'll have a shot of tequila every time they say 'nuanced'.

I couldn’t get the article to open. But let me take a guess at some:

Its not a mental illness but if they don’t get the treatment they want right away, they can become suicidal.

Gender is a social construct but they have to change their bodies.
Also, they don’t need to change their bodies but not giving blockers/hormones to children will cause them to be suicidal.

They just want to pee, but if women have a separate space it doesn’t count and women have to let trans women in wherever they are.

I’m sure there’s more.

I think they missed that last one.

Oh I forgot my favourite- a vagina and female biology doesn’t make you a woman, but lipstick and a spinny skirt does.

Yes, it's the movement's inherent contradictions that made me certain it's misguided.

Since we disagree on what a woman is, I don't expect their ideas about womanhood and women's rights/services to be consistent with mine. I do however expect them to be self consistent, and they are not.

My contributions to the list:

We've fundamentally misunderstood what a woman is by believing women are the female of the species.

But also...everything set up based on the assumption that women are female is obviously there for the new type of woman despite being set up without any reference to that group of people. It's not there for female people despite being literally designed for that group of people.

Having a female body isn't part of being a woman.

But also...trans women can give intimate care to people with female bodies because they are women.

There's some absolute corkers in that article and well-worthy of a t-shirt.

The one that jumped out at me from the article was the one that starts with “if the perpetrator of a crime….”.

I was going to quote it, but it occurred to me that the quote might get my post deleted.

This one stood out for me:

Detransitioners are a very tiny minority and so they must not be listened to.

Gender identity is fixed from birth and children know who they are and know their gender identity from a young age.

Children need puberty blockers to give them time to decide about their gender identity.

Detransitioners don't exist - they were never really trans. They were mistaken.

Really sad that mumsnet moderators deleted my message, there was nothing wrong with what I said. The gender ideology movement is predatory and it is child grooming.
Platforms that refuse to acknowledge other opinions and go as far as deleting them are complicit with such grooming
