I wish they wouldn’t keep using the phrase ‘anti-trans activist’ though - this is about women’s rights activists & keeping men out of our spaces, whether they identify as trans or not.

Completely. It is very annoying. Especially when the article itself points out that most of the panels were not about gender identity at all.

The keynote address was about terrifying new reproductive technologies. Sessions included consciousness raising, misogynoir (the unique hatred black women experience), the role of lesbians in the women’s movement past and present, “bridging the gap” to work together across racial and ethnic lines, feminist publications, and many more.

Of course the folx who chalked “TERFs suck my nuts” on the sidewalk nearby think this is all about them.

Judging from the images, the protestors are overwhelmingly white - not really representative of SF, are they?

Why is trans activism disproportionately a political movement of white people? (Unless I’m mistaken.)

The DM also called Brette Smith, one of the women they cite, 'anti trans' which seems risky: could she sue? They also call the attendees 'radical feminists' which may or may not be true, but I bet they haven't asked the attendees about their politics, so they don't actually know.

And again a 'counter-protest'. You need a protest in order to counter it and who protests inside a hotel? What happened outside was the protest. And a nasty one at that.

I'm glad to see the article but such a shame it's full of lazy journalism.
