Surely this can't be given permission to go ahead.

The director of a new private clinic has said he hopes to start prescribing cross-sex hormones within the “next couple of months” to teenagers questioning their gender.

Dr Aidan Kelly is among several former staff from the Tavistock gender clinic who have set up a new practice that will provide private referrals for hormone treatment and reassignment surgery.

Gender Plus will charge £275 for a one-hour appointment, which can be booked via its website without an NHS referral.
Jo Crawford’s full interview Aidan Kelly, the director of Genderplus, will be on Times Radio Breakfast on Wednesday at 7.35am. You can listen on DAB, online or through the Times Radio app.

CQC should be all over this. Their Clinical lead is not medically trained (he’s a psychologist) and the person they are proposing as prescribed for hormones and blockers is a nurse. So someone else who is also not a doctor let alone a Consultant Endocrinologist.
That is so far away from what the purpose of independent non medical prescribers should be doing that the CQC really shouldn’t grant the clinic registration.

Whether they actually do it is another matter and I suspect will take further campaigning to draw attention to it.

God these clinics are like whack-a-mole.

Sorry to drop links and run before. I agree this seems madness.

I still don't understand how "questioning your innate gender identity, which is not your sex" becomes "changing your body to look like the opposite sex" but I'll leave that aside for this thread.
