What is a woman NZ? Sign towed behind a plane over Eden Park for the Women’s World Cup game.

Well done those women!! They are letting NZ know they are still talking and still campaigning.

Can’t keep a good woman down.

I am just reading about the group who have done it. Who is family first?

When reading their manifesto about women and children
and this campaign, they sound reasonable. However, what else do they campaign for? It looks like they are anti-abortion. Is this true?

I am off to look further.

Thank you spartacus. I am on my phone and it is hard for me to read on the small screen, so I have skimmed and will look further later.

So, this group is not necessarily a group of women who actively organised women’s rallies. That is a shame. The message could have been very powerful but is more likely it is promoted by group who wish to define women for their own purposes.

That is disappointing.

No, sadly it seems to have been organised by a conservative Christian group with links to the evangelical movement in the US.

Their definition of woman is the old one that second-wave feminism initially rejected.

The big question is whether if it were a group of women organising that protest whether they would have been allowed to go ahead.

I get the impression that FF NZ are somewhat wealthy and connected and of course their definition of women is one that the powerful don't mind so much.

Here's an old article about this group that highlights their access to wealth and power.
