Cuts to the bone.

👏👏👏 I never understand why interviewers and 'journalists ' never push these MPs on these matters as thoroughly as they should.

Thanks OP and well said Jeni Harvey. I really, really don't trust Labour on this issue. No apology yet to Rosie or Toni. Some linguistic back-pedalling but the lunatic TRA fringe are still firmly within the fold and I'm not sure that the women are.

EdithStourton · 03/08/2023 08:54

That was a wonderful and cathartic read. Thank you for sharing.

AgathaSpencerGregson · 03/08/2023 08:58

Heh. Isn’t the Labour Party just absurd.

Boiledbeetle · 03/08/2023 09:11

That was a good article

The issue is what has gone before. It is women served up as collateral damage, the brutal injustice and misogyny of it all brushed under the carpet as politicians squirm, offer weak excuses, and attempt to get themselves off on a technicality. If what the Labour Party hopes is that women will now clap like seals and stay silent in the name of gratitude then they have underestimated us for the second time. There can be no reconciliation without an acknowledgement of truth.

I do think Labour hope now they've finally answered the awkward what is a woman question we should now just shut up and thank them whilst getting 100% behind them. But for this woman it's not enough for me. I require more, much more before they get my vote back.

And they most definitely need to deal with likes of Russell double barrelled surname guy who still thinks he did nothing wrong when he launched that awful tirade on Miriam in Parliament

Floisme · 03/08/2023 09:22

I don't think Labour have any idea how much damage they have done. No idea at all.

Exactly Floisme.

Russell Moyle aka the Ginger Gender Finger Jabber as some wag styled him on Twitter. He is one weird little guy. Labour’s full of that type though.
