In today's Telegraph. On Wednesday, Falkner is at the Women & Equalities Committee. Maya and Miriam quoted in the article.

"BRITAIN’S equalities chief has been left in limbo following unresolved claims about her conduct, with the regulator now at risk of running “adrift”, sources have claimed."

So the transactivists who instigated this are currently successful with their aim of disrupting the work of this important body. All the eyerolls!

The trans guidance for schools has apparently been delayed yet again for further revisions. Maybe the extreme transactivists wedged into our institutions - the EHRC, the DfE, the CPS & the civil service - are finally being challenged?

School trans guidance may be amended to make it harder for pupils to socially transition

Long-awaited draft document due to be published this week has been delayed while possible revisions are made

Can’t read story so please could someone explain regarding on what subject or in what capacity W&E Committee is seeing Baroness Falkner?
It is totally unacceptable if this investigation is being slowed or left unresolved.
Firstly politically because you can’t take out the head of a major government body in a democratic society just for having views that some people dislike (but which are legal and non violent beliefs)
secondly Maya’s case legal precedent surely protects her beliefs so the external enquiry should just be a ‘straightforward’ HR enquiry regarding whether Falkner’s shown reasonable conduct at work
Thirdly if colleagues at EHRC are for example holding up an enquiry then surely that is a disciplinary matter for within the organisation.
Fourthly these are taxpayer funded organisations with actual work to do and they aren’t free to do them with any credibility or the necessary focus on their work while their Chair is being investigated and/or the staff body successfully managing to slow it or block that. The longer this drags on the more taxpayer money is being diverted from its proper purpose at the EHRC which is not acceptable.

Lady Falkner is due to appear for a routine scrutiny session in front of the Commons equalities committee on Wednesday.

The panel, chaired by Caroline Nokes, a staunch critic of Lady Falkner, has listed “the internal investigation into Baroness Falkner in response to <a class="break-all" href="https://archive.ph/o/s8oMg/www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2023/05/25/baroness-falkner-channel-4-ofcom-equality-and-human-rights/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">allegations of discriminatory behaviour” as one of only three specific topics it expects to raise with her and Marcial Boo, the chief executive of the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC).

Ian Acheson, a former chief operating officer of the EHRC, said the claims amounted to an “ideological witch hunt” against Lady Falkner.

I would have thought there is no way that the Women and Equalities Committee could talk about anything relating to the formal inquiry.

In fact it is odd they are going ahead with this as there will be so much off limits as the last thing the Tories need to do is to be seen to be taking sides.

Unforuntately though, this leaving the EHRC and Lady Falkner in limbo is exactly what trans activists want.

Its just another of their war of attrition. Thinking that they can wear people down.

I hope Caroline Nokes loses her seat at the next election, she’s a complete liability when it comes to women’s rights but thinks herself a crusader against VAWG.
