Lady Falkner is due to appear for a routine scrutiny session in front of the Commons equalities committee on Wednesday.
The panel, chaired by Caroline Nokes, a staunch critic of Lady Falkner, has listed “the internal investigation into Baroness Falkner in response to <a class="break-all" href="https://archive.ph/o/s8oMg/www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2023/05/25/baroness-falkner-channel-4-ofcom-equality-and-human-rights/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">allegations of discriminatory behaviour” as one of only three specific topics it expects to raise with her and Marcial Boo, the chief executive of the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC).
Ian Acheson, a former chief operating officer of the EHRC, said the claims amounted to an “ideological witch hunt” against Lady Falkner.
I would have thought there is no way that the Women and Equalities Committee could talk about anything relating to the formal inquiry.
In fact it is odd they are going ahead with this as there will be so much off limits as the last thing the Tories need to do is to be seen to be taking sides.
Unforuntately though, this leaving the EHRC and Lady Falkner in limbo is exactly what trans activists want.
Its just another of their war of attrition. Thinking that they can wear people down.
