So in the last 4 days:
My 7 year old DS told me he thinks he's 'a little bit transgender' because he likes hanging out with girls more than boys.
My 13 year old niece attended Pride (with her mum), as she's bisexual apparently
My 10 year old DS told me they're playing spin the bottle (kisses on hands only) in their playground at lunchtime!

I'm so not ready for all this yet!

(And yes, I've emailed the school about spin the bottle. I'm unimpressed).

I wish someone had taken me to pride when I was 13.

When I was thirteen Pride was still somewhere homosexuality was celebrated. So yes, it would have been quite cool.

These days, I wouldn't take a young lesbian anywhere near it to be told that she needs to 'learn to cope' with sex with men out of a social duty that comes with being born female. And if she doesn't, she's in for a world of hate and bullying and exclusion.

Is spin the bottle inappropriate at 10?

Is spin the bottle inappropriate at 10?

Definitely not. And not in school playground at lunch! Like I said, I've raised that particular point with the school and they're going to address it.
