I don’t know what that is 🤷🏼‍♀️ so am (probably happily) none the wiser…

MaePedwarGolau · 22/06/2023 12:43

Well, there's a word I wish I hadn't learnt...

What age is 9th grade? Not that this is appropriate or necessary in school at any age.

Plasmodesmata · 22/06/2023 12:48

If you don't know what this is DO NOT GOOGLE.

DemiColon · 22/06/2023 12:48

9th grade is 14/15 years old.

TinselAngel · 22/06/2023 12:53

The idea that you always need lube, whatever you're doing is a bit rapey. Are they sponsored by a "water based lube" manufacturer?

IcakethereforeIam · 22/06/2023 12:59

If you scroll down the tweet thread you can see what I assume are the teaching materials. The pictures, the language used, that's for younger than 14 years! Even if that was the age group of this class. Who commissioned this? What was in the specification when it was commissioned?

Apparently, someone has filed a Police report.

Do NOT search online. Do NOT!

PriOn1 · 22/06/2023 15:35

No need to search, the linked Twitter thread has an explanation. What strikes me is that nobody of any age needs to know that. Anyone perverted enough to enjoy that stuff can find out for themselves.

The inclusion of such material strongly suggests that those writing this must be utterly depraved to believe that this is normal. I hope it’s correct that a police report has been filed. Even though I suspect they’d be hard pushed to find enough reason to search those men’s computers, it seems likely if they did search they would probably find extreme porn of various types. The current push to normalize extreme sexual depravity needs to be exposed and called out every time.

Xoxoxoxoxoxox · 22/06/2023 16:06

Planned Parenthood seems to have gone all in on a lot of extreme beliefs. They are the one's doling out puberty blockers to young students with only a brief interview.

Grammarnut · 22/06/2023 17:18

Every one of the cards is about a kink or fetish. Who needs to know this and what is it doing in school? As others have said, anyone interested would find out for themselves. Most of it is enough to make anyone vomit.

QueenHippolyta · 22/06/2023 20:45

That is positively disgusting!
What porn-addled idiot though this was appropriate for children horrible!
I'm a tough middle-aged Lesbian and hadn't heard of these acts...

Me neither and not sure I want to know.

timetorefresh · 22/06/2023 20:59

Oh my god. I used to teach a boy about 15 years ago now who used to yell "felch" and call people "felchers" I looked it up at the time so I could tell him off and wished I hadn't. That's the only other time I've come across the term

Boiledbeetle · 22/06/2023 22:00

For 50 years I didn't know that was a thing or that it had a word.

I wish I still didn't know.

These educational resource providers have lost their Fucking minds

HotPenguin · 22/06/2023 22:14

The reply from the school is pure gold. "There was one resource which fell outside the scope of the curriculum". That's an A* for carefully crafted understatement.

TheBiologyStupid · 23/06/2023 12:42

Unbelievable - what a world.

Littlesprouts · 23/06/2023 13:03

This is just horrific in terms of the 'normalisation' of things way beyond the experience of young people. These cards aren't even simply factual but promoting all these acts as super fun things everyone is doing. It's wrong. Really wrong.

As if young girls especially need any more pressure of what is expected from them sexually.

ArabeIIaScott · 23/06/2023 13:14

Oh, look, they have a disclaimer:

'* Please note that some resources available through the Ordering Centre contain language, information and images related to sexuality and drug use, and may not be intended for people of all ages. CATIE ensures that these resources, developed to help prevent the transmission of HIV, hepatitis C and other infections, are written and reviewed by health experts for content accuracy. Organizations ordering these materials must review them to determine that the content is appropriate for their intended audience.'

ArabeIIaScott · 23/06/2023 13:16

So the problem would be with 1. the workshop provider (planned parenthood) and 2. the school.

turbonerd · 23/06/2023 19:12

Why in the world would this need to be adressed in schools?

I regret that I clicked on the link in the other thread about this. My innocence shattered. My faith in Humanity irrevocably down the pan. Also a bit nauseous.

Sex ed should be about enthusiastic consent, safety and boundaries. Plus anatomical facts, I guess.

This extra kinky crap can be googled when they are 28 and living by themselves!

Oh, how I wish I could unsee those slides 🫢🤢🤮

Faffertea · 23/06/2023 19:44

I read the A-Z in the link on Twitter and aside from how incredibly inappropriate that material is for sex education lessons it struck me that it’s so male centric. Largely about male sex acts (and extreme ones) with attention all about male pleasure. Nothing in there about the clitoris for example or activities women find pleasurable.

And the reference to lesbians as ‘Vagitarians’ is frankly offensive.

Id bet my right arm it was written by a gay man.

Clymene · 23/06/2023 20:01

I had to stop reading the definitions on those slides. I knew what felching was before and wish I didn't.

This is irrelevant to children. It's irrelevant to most adults having healthy sex lives. It's the g word.

Delphinium20 · 23/06/2023 20:13

I have never heard of felching before. A bit scared to ask my teen DDs if they've heard of it.

No clitoris education? Sheesh!
