Walking by a busy road on a narrow foot path. Man 35ish with a little girl and a boy about 7 yrs marching towards me. I can see 2 cars coming; if I step out of the way I'll be killed. Still they are going to walk through me. So at the last second I say'Wait'
Man says 'Did you expect them ( ie children ) to go on the road' ? No, but it would be really to be given the time to step out safely which I did after the cars passed.😖

Some people are just insane, honestly. No self-awareness.

cantcopenow · 18/06/2023 14:26

Was meant to say situational awareness! They only think of themselves.

Is this a feminist issue? There are as many rude women about who don't have the sense to get their children in single file to pass others.

Seainasive · 18/06/2023 14:50

Definitely a feminist issue. Have you never played patriarchy chicken?

Proudtobeabitch · 18/06/2023 14:58

He wouldn't have treated a man like that. Terf? Karen? witch ?
It all stems from the same attitude. If I were a pretty young woman he'd probably be nice as pie. Why was the L'oreal campaign 'Because you're worth it" so successful? Because we are made to feel like we're not worth it.

Women do this too. It's just entitlement whatever sex!

They just expect us to jump out of their way and it's utterly insane.

A few summers ago I was taking my nieces to the park, we were sat on the grass when a bunch of boys, around 10 came over and told us to move, holding ball in hand and seemed very confused when I looked at them square and said a very polite and simple "No".

The girls were silent and you could tell they were uncomfortable.

After a very tense standoff the boys ran off and got an adult who had just parked up. They returned with the man and the man asked us to move, and again I said a simple "No".

He shrugged his shoulders and went "its fine we'll go elsewhere". This 50 acre park, with a handful of people in, there was no explanation why they couldn't have done that in the first place, but these young boys just had to ask to a woman and two girls to move and make way for them.

I'm glad I stood my ground, and hopefully taught them that women can say no.
