Great, this is exactly what we've all been waiting for.

mb2512cat · 26/03/2023 08:49

I read it and he’s shown he doesn’t have the first clue about this debate. Oh to be a straight man and be blissfully unaware of all this going on!

Karatequeen · 26/03/2023 08:50

He’s such a tit, who cares what’s in the article.

raspberrywine · 26/03/2023 08:52

Sorry OP, I couldn't give a toss about what ole Jeremy thinks. Of course, he doesn't have a clue. Why is that surprise?

Igneococcus · 26/03/2023 08:52

I find it really hard to belief how clueless about the issue someone can still be at this time.

FrancescaContini · 26/03/2023 08:53

Atrocious arrogant pompous mansplainer at the best of times; I can’t bear to read this.

Whichnumbers · 26/03/2023 08:53

It’d probably be annoying if I could read behind the paywall

OldCrone · 26/03/2023 08:58

Sadly, that probably accurately sums up the level of understanding of most men.

nilsmousehammer · 26/03/2023 08:58

God, grant me the confidence (and the freedom to be totally oblivious to the crap women live with) of a mediocre man.

DysonBison · 26/03/2023 09:03

* [debate about what a woman is] creates a noise that’s annoying to most of us*

I think that pretty much sums up Jezza's stake in proceedings.

FOJN · 26/03/2023 09:05

Jeremy Clarkson deploying his generous male privilege to piss everyone off.

highame · 26/03/2023 09:08

Clarkson is just a shit stirrer. If I read him at all, I read for amusement but doesn't this last paragraph have, at least, a little bit of sense, or are we just the TRA opposition and stopped, like them, being thinkers

I believe that this is possible and I accept that it creates several problems for society, and not just in the lavatory or in a prison or in the school high jump competition. But how can we address these issues when every teenage halfwit is muddying the waters by claiming to identify as a bat and inventing a pronoun that wouldn’t even be allowed in a game of Scrabble? “Faer”, my arse.

LongLostNailVarnish · 26/03/2023 09:08

He's just after cool points, since he got dragged through the mud, for being the bellend he is.

This is just a distraction 'look over there' 'I'm not that bad' tactic

TBH haven't read the article, I'm guessing from people's replies.

NotBadConsidering · 26/03/2023 09:21

Brian Cox is also in today's edition, at least he’s paid attention:

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/9cbd6122-c810-11ed-9386-0ff7738b71b1?shareToken=4720801bcbf32f486679233bd4058c66

Then we get on to JK Rowling. Cox is vehemently against the haranguing of the writer for her take on transgender issues and the self-ID debate. “Whatever you think of her,” he says, “she’s entitled to a view about her own body and womanhood because she’s a woman. You can disagree but can’t castigate her. Who are you?”

…“We need a conversation of compassion. For both elements. A woman is entitled to views about her body and to feel critical of the transgender movement. She might not be right, but she is entitled and we forget that. We’re so ready to damn people. It’s a modern form of McCarthyism.”

Succession’s Brian Cox: ‘I’m cantankerous. A big mouth’

As Succession’s Logan Roy bows out, Brian Cox takes centre stage and lets rip about everyone from Blair to JK Rowling — and reveals why Daniel Day Lewis is a ‘stupid bugger’

Wonnle · 26/03/2023 09:24

I wish he would wade into the sea and just keep going !

He's got what he wants though , attention .

EndlessTea · 26/03/2023 09:35

“think how infuriating it must be to those who really were born in the wrong body.

I believe that this is possible”

Why would he believe something so preposterous? I don’t think he is a thicko, could it be he is he religious - a believer in miracles or some such thing, so he doesn’t need scientific plausibility before he accepts an idea?

sashagabadon · 26/03/2023 09:37

That’s quite a funny column. Makes some reasonable points in a light hearted way. Maybe he’ll resurrect his feud with piers and they’ll go head to head in a live debate about it. Pay per view kind of thing 😁

sashagabadon · 26/03/2023 09:39

He’s a farmer so would be interesting to know if he thinks ewes can be born in a rams body or not.
I think he’s just trying to write a funny column about it, that’s it. Probably a quiet ish week on Diddly Squat with the constant rain

EndlessTea · 26/03/2023 09:45

I think he must be a true believer in ‘innate gender’ - he looks around and sees women scurrying about, doing all the cleaning and tidying, all the caring and grafting, stressing about their appearance and preening and he thinks “I don’t feel like doing any of that. Ever. I could never be a woman”.

Done.

Karatequeen · 26/03/2023 08:50

He’s such a tit, who cares what’s in the article.

I know, couldn't be bothered clicking on Jeremy Clarkson's thoughts on this matter. A man who punched his camera man in the face because he was hungry............. I doubt he has much to add.

Aishah231 · 26/03/2023 09:52

I noticed he referred to Sam Smith as a he.

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 26/03/2023 09:54

I no longer subscribe to the Times, so I can't see the comments, but Times/ST readers are about 98% GC, so I doubt many agree with Jezzer.

This was my first thought too.

Clarkson wants to rehabilitate himself, and he's choosing to do it by announcing that women are making a bit of a silly fuss about nothing. Twat.

But it'll be quite nice to be able to hold him up to those who regularly pop up with 'when you're on the same side as Trump you need to be worried'.

QuintanaRoo · 26/03/2023 09:57

I agree he’s saying this trying to be cool, left wing, woke, whatever after the debacle following his Meghan comments.

he is so clueless he doesn’t realise he’s actually further throwing women under the bus
