Delighted to be holding our first event on 28th March, 6.30 - 8.00 at a Central London Venue.

This is an opportunity to come together to celebrate victories and discuss the work that is still to be done.

The event is free to attend, but booking is essential.

Lord Blencathra has been a Conservative Peer since 2011 and was formerly Minister of State at the Home Office and Chief Whip. At the end of November 2021 and in January 2022, he brought two amendments to the Police Crime Sentencing and Courts Bill which sought to provide protection to women in prison by reinforcing their rights to single-sex prison accommodation. Although these did not proceed to a vote as they were opposed by both government and opposition

I'm really sorry, I'm too far away from London to be able to make it for an evening event, but I wish you all the best. I saw Joan Smith speaking in Swansea the other night and she was wonderful — funny and informed.

I won't book a ticket now, knowing I can't come, in case you sell out. But if you need funds to cover your costs let us know and I'll either book one or make a donation if you have an account.

Has anyone heard anything? I live in the frozen north but happen to be in the big smoke this week so have ordered a ticket for tomorrow. It'll be interesting to attend something in person, albeit a bit scary 😬

Not going but several people I know are. It's still set for tomorrow evening AFAIK, you will need to allow time to get through security as I think they're starting promptly.

I'm very sad I can't come but I hope it goes really well. Looking forward to hearing the reports.
