The Council are looking for responses on how women feel about safety.

'Following the Women’s Safety in Public Places Consultation that took place over the summer of 2022, we are now seeking the views of Edinburgh residents once again on your perceptions of safety and factors that make you feel safe or unsafe. This consultation is open to anyone who lives, works, studies, socialises or commutes to Edinburgh.

We are doing this because we want to get your views on safety in public places during a different time of year and at least six months since the first consultation. Even if you have completed the survey before, please complete it again, as we want to know if and how your views have changed over the last 6 months.'

Women’s safety. Why are they asking about trans gender

ArabellaScott · 09/03/2023 22:42

I didn't even see that, littl.

I had in mind the recent film screening of Adult Human Female, where women were spat at by Robyn Woof, and the upcoming meeting in Portobello library, where terrorists are threatening the safety of women so much the council demand a bill for private security.

Thanks, Arabella. I'm sure I've visited Edinburgh at some point so will feel free to offer my opinions to the council. They might not like them, of course...

ArabellaScott · 10/03/2023 10:13

They may not, but a city council asking women how htey feel about visiting the city should be asking all women.

Any woman who has attended a demo or protest in Edinburgh, lawfully and peacefully, and been threatened, abused, or attacked, may have views about how safe they feel.

Is it open to people who self-identify as living in or visiting Edinburgh? I visited once about 20 years ago, so I suppose that's more lived experience than other people who self-ID into situations they can never really experience, right?

EVHead · 10/03/2023 10:40

Done.

Absolutely! And put brilliantly, too!

ArabellaScott · 10/03/2023 12:46

I would say it should include the views of anyone who may be thinking of visiting Edinburgh in future. I'm not being funny - if you're considering your children going to Edinburgh university, or a trip to the Festival, or a holiday, whatever, your views are relevant.
