Some eye opening stuff here: worth following up if your child attends school in Swindon.

Rishi talks well on this (see answer to excellent question by Nick Fletcher MP below) but when is the government going to produce guidelines and then enforce them? Schools, trusts and councils that are captured just please themselves at the moment.

Good to see these issues getting some coverage. Safe Schools Alliance getting in on the action too.

I sense people are really sick of this, and I've heard anecdotally that more parents are asking to see PSHE resources. Quite rightly.

The same twitter poster has made an extended thread here with lots more excerpts

The text is up:

Nick Fletcher
"A school in my constituency was complaining that it could not afford to turn the heating on, yet that school and others are spending money on PSHE materials from organisations such as Stonewall and Jigsaw that are educating our boys and girls that they may not have been born in the right body or that they may have an inner gender identity. Will the PM meet me to see how we can stop this unscientific, ideological education being taught in our schools and get our children learning where they should be learning—in a warm, safe place?"

Answer from Rishi:

"We have boosted school funding by around £2 billion in each of the next two years, which will help schools to manage their energy costs, but we do expect schools to take responsible and sensible decisions on their RHSE materials and make sure that those materials are age-appropriate, suitable, politically impartial and value for money. I look forward to discussing this matter with my hon. Friend, and I will make sure that he gets a meeting with the relevant Minister."

The age appropriate and politically impartial points are very important because in the non-statutory guidance, politically impartial isn't really there. It's too arguable either way as regards sex education:

Of course the statutory guidance is worse as it does erroneously include "gender identity" and that has also got to change, to reflect the law and not Stonewall Law.

Wow that thread:

"I don't like this casual normalisation of filming sex by a local borough council. Call me old-fashioned."

Someone needs to have a word with Noah. Noah has some strange ideas!

There are some very strange ideas. How can any young person really set their own boundarieis when so much is billed as 'normal' by adults teachign them before they have time to think or experience things at their own pace.

I bet loads of the kids hate these lessons.

Bloody hell.

I thought my school was bad.

Fenlandia · 01/03/2023 20:58

There's so much wrong and concerning about that thread, but one thing that stuck out to me is "football kit" being used as an example of "gender expression". WTAF does that mean? Am I a man once a week when I watch my team? Were our wonderful England team who won the Euros last year expressing their gender or were they, ya know, just enjoying their sport?

BlessedKali · 01/03/2023 22:28

Oh my god this is so fucked up it is unbelievable.

ScrollingLeaves · 02/03/2023 01:12

It is time for this to be made illegal. It is so awful that anyone who can should be leaving the school, but of course very few would be in a position to do this.

Maybe a crowd should take this to Rishi Sunak and have him listen in front of a television camera.

PearCrumbleCustard · 02/03/2023 01:47

I have a child with SEN and I now insist that any PSHE education is shown to me first before I agree to it. At the moment we are asked to sign ‘in advance’ each year for general permissions for our kids (photos etc) so I have not signed it, stating my reasons (not mentioning gender critical, just stating that my child is very vulnerable, very suggestible and literal and I need to know what they are being’ taught by trusted adults).

However even so, my pre teen child knows what non binary is, it’s everywhere! It’s crazy he doesn’t even really know what male and female is yet fully.

Dreading secondary where even if I pull my child out all the other kids will be talking about it and policing language etc.

EpicChaos · 02/03/2023 02:01

I think it's high time that some of our great and good, are reminded about Mengele and the punishment he was due, had he been caught and framing it in the terms of the trauma that they should expect to have when karma comes a-calling, one day, hopefully in the not too distant!
The people involved in this horrendous attack on children, be they politicians, doctors, surgeons, teachers, etc., are all equally culpable, imo, there should be no escape from justice for any of them!

ChristinaXYZ · 02/03/2023 11:44

It is very frustrating that nothing is done.

And there's this from the Children's Society:

“Gender identity” is more or less being marketed as a life-style choice but to what purpose?

Grammarnut · 02/03/2023 15:01

This is a bit odd, it's a cloze on what constitutes rape:
A man would commit rape if he intentionally penetrates with his penis in the ,
or _ of another person, male or female, without that person’s
consent or if they are under 13, as young people aged 12 and under are not legally able to give
consent to any sexual activity.
(answers)
vagina
mouth
anus

I just checked and the age of consent in the UK (and 16 overseas territories) is 16, not 12, so why is Swindon saying children under 12 cannot consent, when it is young people under 16? Have we unilaterally reduced the age of consent to 12? Who asked anyone? The end result here is that the students are misled into thinking consensual sex is ok with over 12s, and removes one reason for not consenting to sex for teenagers under 16: being under the age of consent. Lowering the age of consent was one of the aims of PIE, too.

ScrollingLeaves · 02/03/2023 15:04

To try to mitigate the future difficulties training children in this way will bring — because not only will they think they are different so called ‘genders’ from their bodies, but they may not even now what sex, as in male or female means; and, because of the self-IDing that Labour will welcome in if they are successful at the next election - please consider signing this petition.

It is to update the Equality Act to make clear that the characteristic “sex” is biological not sex as modified by a Gender Recognition Certificate.

On the site do not be confused by the Government response so far, which does not address the question on the petition which is related to conflicts between the Equality Act and the Gender Recognition Act ( which is also why Parliament is blocking the Scottish GRR Bill).

Thats why people very rarely comment, because of the responses like in that thread ' social contagion is a dog whistle for transphobia'

On another thread, I think its about the draq queen issue on the Isle of Man, someone talks about public services being 'captured', including the police, social services, health etc. The problem is the vast majority of workers are not, but simply cant say anything or act in a way which demonstrates how illogical and harmful a lot of this is

SinnerBoy · 02/03/2023 15:12

"heterosexist virginity myths"

Any ideas what this means?

As for the rest, WE WARNED EVERYONE THIS WOULD HAPPEN. The nutnuts have filled in the gap opened up by the new curriculum.

The Government need to get a handle on this, there should be a centrally made curriculum to use for teaching this. Not this sexist wank, sorry, "taboo touch"

ResisterRex · 03/03/2023 12:53

"heterosexist virginity myths"

Any ideas what this means?

Sounds like code for: she's not even a virgin, she's a slag and therefore no I didn't rape her.

ScrollingLeaves · 03/03/2023 16:04

I am guessing it means what used to be called heavy petting without penetrative sex, so they were still virgins.

This is scoffing at and belittling that final boundary that could also avoid pregnancies in unprepared teens.

Heaven forbid too - apparently - that it is heterosexual. It could really apply to gay teenagers too anyway.

It is about not too much, too soon, and also leaving time to think, but is, according to these people, contemptible.

That boundary is a good thing given these are year 10 so at an age before sex is even legal. But not for these from societies horse brushers.

I think there ought to be a class action against them for incitement for minors.

What idiot encourages 14 and 15 year olds to film themselves having sex too? We know how sadly that can end.

They can all have holiday pocket money from OnlyFans.
